Quoting: Doc AngeloThanks for the info that the extended period is for paying costumers. Ubuntu 12.04 was still supported just a few months ago. And I know people who had 12.04 on their systems just a few months ago. Not everyone wants to upgrade everything all the time. I've running Debian Stable now, and intend to do so as long as it is supported.
Debian stable is only a few weeks old currently. It's way more up to date than even Ubuntu 14.04 and arguably rivals 16.04.2.
I know. The point is that I will run Debian 9 until it will not be supported anymore. I look forward to not change everything constantly for the next few years.

Linux users account for less than 2% of our customers but over 50% of our bug reports...
If they're legitimate bugs then what's the problem? Are they expecting Linux gamers to just suck it up and accept buggy software? I really don't understand the nature of his complaint.
They don't complain about that. They don't expect Linux gamers to just suck it up. They do the exact opposite of that.

Ubuntu 12.04 (from the year 2012) is still supported, and will be until 2019. https://www.ubuntu.com/info/release-end-of-life [External Link]

I have no idea if compatibility with Linux is harder than with Windows. Windows devs have to make sure that the games work with 7, 8, 9 and possibly XP.

I think this dev is getting too much flak for what he is doing. If you read a little bit how he deals with reports and how he responds to them, you certainly will see that he doesn't mean it ill. Has he ever said that he doesn't have a Linux machine, like other devs? In the official Steam forum, I have not found such a statement.

He is doing what other devs would never do: Say that something isn't up to his standards and apologize for it. Yet, his game is more stable than other games that are still sold for Linux.

I've played the game on Linux. I have encountered a single bug, reported it and after a few days, the bug was fixed. I agree that there are some devs out there who just spit out a Linux build without ever testing it, but I don't think this fellow is one of them.

Beautiful mixed 3D/pixel art adventure game 'The Last Night' announced for SteamOS/Linux

I really dig the art style and the animation. I'm looking forward to it! It's a good thing that so many Microsoft titles are released and coming for Linux/SteamOS.

Now they live in the era of leisure. Machines have surpassed human labour not only in strength, but in precision, intellect, and creativity. Stabilised by universal income, people struggle to find their calling or identity, and define themselves by what they consume, rather than what they create.
I hope that this game does not jump onto the "Automation is evil!" bandwagon. Not that a medium should not be allowed to portray a possible future in that way, but I wouldn't particularly like it if the game world would practically send the message that automation and universal income are generally bad things. My point of view is that people will create even more, not less - while they have more time to consume the stuff other people created. I think FOSS-software, -art and -hardware will play an important role in such a future.

Does anyone have any pointers on how to make the old Oculus Development Kit 1 run on Linux? I haven't found anything yet.
