Nice progress on that game. I have backed it but only beta access level. So hopefully the beta starts soon :D

Hmm never heard of that one, always used GZDoom for ages, actually played it today :D
Version 2.1 is already in AUR so I will try it out. Thanks for covering it.

Oh what sweet news. Romeros levels in the original were some of the best. Really looking forward to that.
So I need to reinstall my original doom and GZDoom :D

Quoting: doctorx[..] So close to deleting windows, i can taste it. I wish i could figure out how to get Diablo III and other blizzard games working with it.
With Lutris and DXVK I got Diablo 3, WoW BfA, Hearthstone and Heroes working without greater problems. But be sure to check the Lutris Wiki for all the pre-requesites otherwise you will have bad luck getting the battle.net app working

An interview with the developer of DXVK, part of what makes Valve's Steam Play tick

Well, I think it is time for a very big "Thank You" and a heartwarming hug for Mr. Philip Rebohle!

DXVK was the last and much needed coffin nail for my Windows Partition. The Blizzard games were still my last point I was booting into Windows, but since DXVK (among other improvements like esync and pba in Wine) I migrated all my stuff to Linux now. Since yesterday my Windows Partition is gone, hopefully forever.

Now, I am free ...

Thoughts on the Corsair STRAFE RGB Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Silent Switches
24 Jul 2018 at 11:49 am UTC

Quoting: mondalaciHey there!

I'm the lead and founder of the Ultimate Hacking Keyboard [External Link] and we actually do support Linux! Our configurator [External Link] runs natively on Linux, OSX and Windows, it's Free and Open Source, and it provides way more options than the configurators of gaming keyboards (minus LEDs for the time being).

All the best,
Laci
Wow, never heard of UHK but the concept looks awesome and freaking useful (mouse layer is f*in cool idea). I will have a serious look into this for my work keyboard, thanks for the heads up.

For my gaming keyboard, I always felt that the numpad is just useless and uses up desk space and pushes my mouse arm further to the right, which is tiresome in long gaming sessions (and also causes shoulder pain). So I looked for a gaming keyboard without a numpad and mechanical switches and found myself a Logitech G410 Atlas Spectrum and combined it with a Logitech G403 mouse. For both devices are Linux deamons available to configure the RGB stuff, sadly only with config files and no GUI.
I also looked into the Corsair K65 Rapidfire without numpad but at that time it was double as expensive than the Logitech G410, so my choice fell on Logitech. But I didn't know about the cool ckb-next project, looking back now I think I should have bought the Corsair K65 ;)

Some weeks ago I stumbled upon Bloody Keyboards which has an even better concept for a gaming keyboard: light-strike switches and the numpad on the left end! https://www.bloody.com/en/product.php?pid=11&id=155 [External Link]
Still waiting for this baby to be available in Europe!

Reverse engineered source code for Diablo is now on GitHub

Quoting: slaapliedjeThere is a Diablo 3, it just isn't good... like at all. About the only thing I would mark it as good are the graphics. Past that it is way too easy. Like I can set down my controller and leave the room and that is the only way I die, easy. The way they balanced it is ridiculous, and my brother and I were playing on the hoghest difficulty allowed.
I bet you haven't tried anything beyond Torment X difficulty? Diablo 3 has an endless difficulty with its Greater Rift Dungeons. Beyond some point, you just get oneshot no matter what. So you are basically talking shit here. (no offense)

Anyway, back to topic, I had a quick look at the source (and downloaded it before Blizz shuts it down), this is ancient ancient C-Style code. I have no interest in the world refactoring it in any way, I am not masochistic :D
But I hope some will pick up on this!

The Underhollow, a Battle Royale-like mode for Dota 2 is live and it's damn fun
18 Jun 2018 at 8:42 am UTC

Hmmm if this gamemode finds its way into regular Dota2 I may be interested in reinstalling it again. But until then, my pile of shame is high enough to not play any Dota2 again. Wasted to much hours into this...
