This means that a GPU vendor only has to implement a D3D12 driver for their hardware in order to support all three APIs.not be a really bad thing?

Had a night full of INSIDE and loved it to bits.
Had some friends proclaim CHAOS REBORN! and FOR THE KING! while having a jolly good time.
Had a few hours in DARKSIDERS 2 and still have to decide whether I love or it bores me to death.

Quoting: scaineJust a little point, but when you say1. Check Tools filter
make sure you have Proton 5.0 installed in the Tools section of Steam...well, I don't think that exists any more. You can still filter by "tools", but there's no section as such, so there's no way to install tools directly.
[Edit: So, after experimenting and googling, it turns out that you just can't "browse" tools anymore, but you can still type "proton" into your search bar, you'll still see results appearing, even if you haven't actually ticked "tools" in your filter. So tools still exist, you just have to know their name to install them - try searching "sdk" or "server" for more examples]

Base game was and still is playable even with only 6GB of RAM if you have a decently sized SWAP partition/file on SSD. You will feel it though and will need to restart every other mission.
8GB makes it more enjoyable, but there will still be some swap activity in career/campaign mode (skirmish mode was always fine even on 6GB + SWAP)
The game could and should do a better job of memory management (Linux, Mac and Windows versions alike), but it is still absolutely playable with 8GB. Deactivating SWAP space is none standard behaviour, so one can not fault a game for crashing with a system configured that way.

What I find even more concerning is that they are still selling the game with Linux and Mac support with no mention that the support will end on Steam (unless you you are lucky enough to see the small news section entry that will be buried before long)
