BP is noticeably better but still quite slow on nVidia.
and somehow my skin to remove the news section from the standard client does not seem to work anymore - well, back to manually removing it I guess...

ScummVM 2.7.0 'The Real Slim Shader' supports even more classics

Like the shaders quite a bit.:woot:

Had to compile myself since their ubuntu.deb seems to be giving me problems every time (might be some thing messed in my system though because i had this problem with scummvm only for the last couple of versions)

They did fix the UI problems of 'Whispers of a Machine' but the performance of this title as well as 'Unavowed' were noticeably better with version 2.6.0 . Guess some of the AGS engine fixes they had in the previous version have fallen under the rug.

Shader cache downloads being a nuisance? Valve may have solved it

ok so now we have only a few hundred kb downloads and half an hour of shader pre-compiling in the background...for however many people use this feature and dare to have more than one game installed ... this seems a bit wasteful energy wise, does it not?

that would be really nice if it was fixed. though i always wondered why they did not simply specify a reasonable cooldown timer per game once the cache has been downloaded once.

Heroic Games Launcher 2.6.0 out now adding auto updates, new theme

Love the Launcher, but why did they hide the HLTB info behind two additional clicks and put it into a dialog window?! - having that info directly available was one of the cool features of the previous versions and could only have been improved by displaying it for imported games as well.

Otherwise all it's missing is maybe a little bit performance improvements, the option to only display installed titles and given the size of the libraries these days: 'auto-scroll'.

Must be users of that pesky Windows subsystem for Linux - better rewrite the client to only run on Apple products.

Quoting: Liam Dawe
Quoting: LordDaveTheKindIt would have been nice to set the DirectX11 version directly from the launch command (maybe with the parameter -dx11 as the UE games do), and skip entirely that launcher.
Yeah, the problem seems to be skipping the launcher appears to just set a default to DX12 from what I've seen.
Find the 'launcher-configuration.json' in the game directory and change the 'fallback' entry to "DirectX 11"
after that you can use --launcher-skip as a launch option in Steam

Don't want to steal credit for the quite solid base from Ubuntu, but yeah: it's Linux Mint.
