"However, the Wayback Machine shows that Blackpowder Games via their own official blog was acquired by John Ruth and then got turned into some odd news website."

What is the point of this? If you want to create a news website why not just create a news website in the first place? The money he used for the acquisition could have been used as startup capital for the news site.

Quoting: HamishIf they can get the native Postal 2 updates sold outside of Steam that would be me saying hallelujah.

Quoting: NezchanThey can keep their collection of Duke Nukem variants.
You do realize how remarkable it is that they can even sell Duke Nukem given the legal situation with Gearbox right?
It is because when 3D Realms sold the Duke Nukem IP to Gearbox they retained certain rights, including the right to sell all the pre-DNF games. In this period they granted Zoom a perpetual license to sell those games. So there is nothing Gearbox/Embracer can do about that.

Later 3D Realms lost their retained rights in a settlement after being sued by Gearbox for making Duke Nukem Mass Destruction with Imterceptor (Which 3DR insisted was the same as something called "Duke Nukem Survivor" which they HAD retained the right to).

Godot Engine now has its own dedicated Foundation for funding

The thing with an asset store is that guven that the engine is open source/free software in theory anyone can set up their own competing asset store. Now that might not be a big worry in practice for example because people want to have everything in one place.

Maybe what is needed is some Wine like compatibility layer but for running older Linux software on newer Linux systems.

Quoting: MisterPaytwickWait a second, we have a GDF uplink being established ?

"Strong as they may be, they are still flesh and bone"

Are we getting a RTS set into the retro boomer shooter (build engine) universe of IonFury ?

Obviously I may read way too much into this, but... The GDF font looks really like Ion Fury's it's made by the IP owners, I don't know.

I mean I'm absolutely up for it. But if it mean even more ham Ion Fury material, I'm all for it.
Yes, indeed. This is set in the Ion Fury/Bombshell universe. Confirmed on the 3D Realms Discord.

Quoting: TealAs if Unity3D or Source Engine or Unreal Engine were particularly inspired names.
I'll give you Unity3D and Source Engine. Those are admittedly pretty uninspired. But Unreal Engine makes sense, considering the company's naming history. I mean, at some point they were called Epic MegaGames, so it would make sense that Unreal Engine would follow their overcompensating naming scheme.
It is called the Unreal Engine because of the game Unreal. Sadly they seem to have forgotten about the Unreal IP :(

Quoting: STiATThis engine was probably the best thing which came out of amazon game studios yet ;-).

But wasn't it based upon the crytek engine? I wonder how they could relicense it to Apache.
CryTek was in dire financial straits so they sold a license to Amazon to create their own fork off CryEngine that they could then license on to anybody and everybody.

Minecraft - The Wild Update is out now, Java & Bedrock now one purchase

Surely Microsoft has the resources to add all of the Java version festures to Bedrock right? So the missing features are hardly a guarantee of them keeping the Java version, right?
