Usually "spiritual successor" is used about unlicensed works, but in this case they have licensed everything but the Ultima" name from EA.

Quoting: VampeVampireNo, Macs and PCs no longer have different hardware architectures. However it IS the historical reason why Macs haven't been called "PCs" and COULD give us hope that lists like this include Linux within the "PC" designation but don't include Mac OSX.Quoting: JarnoIt's not comming to linux, telltalegames haven't done anything that support linux.Actually, PC and Mac is 2 difrent hardware while Windows and Linux is 2 difrent os, still most game makers i have seen are idiots and think pc=windows, in reality pc should mean that it should work on any OS that runs on a pc computer, but like i said most game makers (and computer software makers in general) fails to understand that.
Also "The first episode will be released some time in 2015, and will be available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android-based devices." implies that there isn't any plans to support linux (PC and Mac separated).

This thread is not about, but about a new storybased game set the Minecraft universe.
Games like Minetest are neither and so can't function as a replacement of this game.

Quoting: MMN-oWell, this wasn't unexpected. However, it's fortunate that there are other creative building games with similar gaming experience such as the free, libre and open source http://minetest.net/ [External Link] which is entirely cross-platform and very extendable.Minecraft still has its Linux version and AFAIK it is still being updated along with the Windows and Mac versions.

1. It is coming to Mac.
2. It is coming to "Playstation consoles".
3. It is coming to iOS.
4. It is coming to Android.
5. It is NOT coming to Windows for smartphones/tablets.
If MS wanted an exclusive for itself it would not allow those 5 things to happen.

Quoting: MohandevirI was talking about the game this news post is about, specifically the following facts about it:Quoting: KristianNetflix has all to do with M$... I don't know if it's still the case but they used to be a major shareholder in Netflix. M$ bux.Quoting: MohandevirSince Microsoft is involved, just forget about it, it's all over. What does MS have to do with Netflix?
They'll probably make sure it doesn't happen, like they did with Netflix and MechWarrior Online, and, and, and...
They dropped Netflix limitations because of all the mobile devices that required it and it's on a field where they already lost the battle, anyway...
Else, M$ doesn't like fair competition...
Also don't Mac, PS4, iOS and Android count as competitors? Heck this doesn't look to be coming to Microsofts own mobile platform at all... it seems it will be exclusively available on competeting platforms!
Back then, I found some interresting discussions threads with some members of the Netflix support staff who told directly that there was no Linux/MAC support because of M$.

Neflix on PS4 and MAC? Until recently it was impossible. Android and IOS are competitors in the market of the mobile device where M$ has a ±3% marketshare... They are not in a Monopolistic position to oppose anybody and if Netflix wants to take it's share of this new market, they had no choice but to drop the limitations. We just benefited from that.

Speculation: BioShock Infinite Might Be an eON port

Quoting: DissCentJust one simple question here: Why should they release a game with a DirectX 10/11 wrapper if their DirectX 9 wrapper still has so many performance issues? I mean, DX 10/11 needs a LOT more resources, so I really doubt it's EON.That is no reason to doubt it is EON. They may have attempted a port despite potentially broken and/or experimental DX11 support in their wrapper or downgraded Bioshock Infinite to DX9 for the port.

Quoting: dimkoI have, several times over.Quoting: fedsoTell me, have you ever fully read GPL3 license?Quoting: GuestThey have a very long and unreadable EULA… -> no thanks.I wouldn't consider a long EULA a good reason to avoid a game, Paradox, probably the most Linux friendly publisher, have an even longer EULA and Steam EULA is as long as the two put together...
Kind of a bittersweet feeling here as well considering how they treated Liam but I guess I'm glad the Linux port finally arrived (also because I was a backer!)
