Congratulations on your release. Really nice of you to release the source code too.

GOG are revamping GOG Galaxy, to help you manage multiple launchers and still no Linux support

Quoting: x_wing
Quoting: KimyrielleGOG isn't some kind of garage operation with next to no budget. Seriously, if they hired some contract devs to port the thing for them, how long would it even take, and would they notice the costs? It's not that Galaxy would be one of the most complex pieces of software in the world...

Pathetic.
It could be if you start the development without multiplatform in mind... which is a stupid move if you call yourself a multiplatform store.

And regarding how "optional" is the client, everyone should notice that having the exact same software on one platform and another makes more simpler the migration from one place to another. Linux users loves to make marketing of our platform (and sometimes we get way too exited in regards of "how better our OS is"), but not having the same software is a big handicap in the end. So, eventhough of much we can like GoG policies, they definitely aren't very friendly with us and doesn't help at all in order to increase the market share of our platform, if not the contrary.
Considering that they have Mac support and the kind of technologies/middleware they are using is their any indication that they started development without multiplatform in mind or that a Linux port would be particularly hard? Have any of you tried running Galaxy under Wine and/or Proton? How well does it work?

Is there some game mode for Minetest without resource limits and the like? If you just want to build things without distractions?

Easy Anti-Cheat is actually still supported for Linux, a statement from Epic Games

" day-to-day prioritization decisions between anti-cheat issues across all of the platforms we support."

How is this different from a pause? As far as I can tell they nowhere in their statement explicitly deny a pause. Like all PR statements, theirs is ambiguously worded.

Easy Anti-Cheat are apparently "pausing" their Linux support, which could be a big problem (updated)

So is Epic now enemy #1 of Linux gaming? I mean they are already effectively paying some developers and publishers to not support Linux, and now this?

AFAIK the Source Engine SDK contains only gameplay source code, not engine source code. It is a modding SDK like in the good old old days when they were standard for FPS games, like with Quake 2, Quake 3,Doom 3, Blood 2 etc

Ami wrong about that?

Many of the Litjech games have been mistakenly/misleadingly put on lists of games with source code available for that reason.

Edit:

On a different matter does anyone have a list of FPS games with 100% FLOSS code(game, engine, shades, tools etc)? Whether with or without free data?

This sucks, but unlike what an earlier comment said Epic is NOT publucally traded.

"While the Linux version has been up on GOG for a little while, Steam was left a bit behind."

That is unusual, to say the least!

If even Microsoft is supporting this, then this shouldn't have the main obstacle of success that OpenGL and Vulkan have had.
