I think it's best if they can do both a VR and a non VR game (not the same one). But they should keep doing some VR games, because the VR gear is expensive, and we also need more games to justify its purchase.

I can't wait to play this game... Unfortunately my Valve Index is still weeks away from shipping (I guess covid-19 is not helping), and I probably won't be able to play it before next month. I'll have to dodge the spoilers until then.

My Valve Index is on its way, but I won't get it before launch time.
So I won't complain about the lack of native Linux support at launch. As Liam I understand that such a big game started its development way before Vulkan become a thing, so that probably explain the lack of official Linux support for now.

1. Cyberpunk 2077
2. Death stranding
3. The division 2 (actually unplayable on Wine/Proton because of anti-cheat)

Thanks for the good work Alex... Hopefuly Feral will manage to do some great Linux ports with the great Linux and Vulkan programmers remaining.

I will buy the Valve Index just to play this game.
I can't imagine Valve did all those efforts to bring VR on Linux if not to port this game on it.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition released with Linux support

I just bought it, too bad I missed the give away ^^
It runs very well on Fedora 30 with my aging GTX970.
I was considering a brand new RTX card for my PC, but since the game doesn't support RTX, I think it's not worth it for now. I wish they add ray tracing support to the Vulkan port though, it would be a great differentiator for the native version compared to Proton.

The Linux port of Shadow of Mordor from Feral Interactive has gained a Vulkan Beta, a massive difference

Quoting: YoRHa-2BAnd here's why it beats Proton and, in fact, Windows:Well, if it has no visual impact on the game, using half-precision AO should be considered as an optimisation, right ?
Not complaining though since the game's AO is quite inefficient and reducing resolution doesn't seem to have a visual impact. And in the CPU-bound case, the port probably still beats us, so good job.

Quoting: KuJoIt's nice to see that Valve is constantly developing Proton's capabilities. It's a long process, as a lot of wine libs needs to be rewritten AFAIK. But I'm pretty confident it will come.
Too bad that we don't hear anything new about Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) yet. Many multiplayer titles won't be listed as "Borked" in the ProtonDB database until the support exists.
I also hope that we won't wait here in vain. The long silence to the topic lets me doubt slowly ...
The handy NVIDIA Optimus GPU switcher just added support for more Linux desktops
