Nexus Mods new cross-platform app v0.7.1 released finally supporting upgrades - better modding for Linux / Steam Deck

The app is very much work in progress; the games currently supported are technically simpler for the mod manager to manage.
By adding support for these simpler games, users can use the app sooner, and the devs can get feedback earlier in the process.
If they were targeting Bethesda games for the first release, we'd just be waiting much longer for that release.
All the work they've done so far would have also needed to be done for Bethesda games, but we wouldn't be able to actually use the app until they'd done a tonne more additional work.
This means by the time they're ready to support Bethesda games, all the fundamentals and basics of the app will be in a well polished state.

Quoting: drdindu2i'm really surprised bethesda games wasn't the first supported considering how big (if not the biggest) modding community is with them. can't wait for fallout 4, skyrim, and starfield support.Think about it from this perspective:

Maybe try checking out recommendations on youtube? Most link to mods in the description if you don't want to actually watch the video.
Just make sure the video is relatively recent, as mods for older versions of the game may not be relevant anymore.
E.g. these pop up in a quick search:

Quoting: mZSq7Fq3qsAre the any good mods for CP77? All I can see are sexmods :DThere's loads, yeah. But if you just scroll through NexusMods you'll inevitably see tons of "adult" mods, like most games on that platform

Quoting: wvstolzingIdeally it would be provided as an SVG (or HTML/CSS) banner. That would mean that it could be scaled better and read by screenreaders, etc.Quoting: mattsturgeonWhile I agree the font is a little thin and perhaps not the prettiest, any bluriness is at your end (either your monitor, some image scaling somewhere or some other issue)That's right; displaying the page at 100% zoom level fixes the blurriness.
On the other hand, it's barely legible for me at that zoom level.

Quoting: wvstolzingNice -- though it's a bit jarring to see blurry monospace fonts; unless one can see them in their fixed-size un-aliased crisp bitmap glory, it's best not to use them IMHO.Hm, it is pretty crisp on my display. Also the banner is being displayed as a png bitmap, which will not blur the font at all.

- Would also like to see some CPU info on the 64bit line.
- Personally I'm not too fussed either way with the font, though it'd be nice if the user could choose from a shortlist of available fonts
On the whole I think this is a cool idea! :)

Quoting: nocriNice idea, maybe CPU info instead of architecture ? I would put after colons and use larger margin on the left (as "Manjaro" touches the border).

My favourite bit about minecraft is the technical contraptions, resource farms and redstone. Personally I'm most excited about the Shulker Box, which will make inventory management and storage significantly easier and more convenient.
