Thank you for all the nice comments about Lutris, really appreciate it! :D

@NotSoQT we plan having that in one of the future releases, it's one of the features I really want to have.

Quoting: sr_ls_boystrycore,

by any chance are you using the mesa drivers?
No, I'm using the Nvidia drivers, I haven't tested with Mesa

In this version, Batman: Arkham Knight launches in-game. It's just as glitchy as The Witcher 3 was 6 months ago but it now runs!

The real interesting news about Wine is this patch: https://dev.wine-staging.com/patches/submission/211/ [External Link]

It should be available in next Tuesday's Wine Staging (and if it doesn't make it by Tuesday, I'll publish a Wine build containing this patch on lutris.net)

Quoting: liamdaweHah not likely, I just tried Lutris, then Wine by itself, then Wine Staging...couldn't get the darn Blizzard app working at all. No Starcraft II for me today!
What kind of problem did you run into when using the Lutris installer? We can try sorting that out in the Linux Gamers Group Discord channel.
It just sat installing game data and never progressed.
That seems to be a recurring issue for some people, unfortunately I've never been able to reproduce it nor did anyone provide me with enough info to get the issue fixed. I'd say that this is currently the biggest issue in Lutris right now and I have no way of fixing it :(

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoWhat is the difference between WineHQ-Staging and Wine-Staging?
both are on my Ubuntu software center
They should be the same (as long as the version number is the same). I believe one is an alias for the other.

Wine Staging 2.9 released with improved support for anti-cheat and DRM

Quoting: wvstolzingAre you referring to the 'connection lost' error on UPlay?
While there are still some connectivity issues with UPlay, it works much better than it used to (on Wine Staging only). I'm referring to the actual Ubisoft DRM used in some of their games. For example, to play Assassin's Creed 2, you have to start UPlay in offline mode, then completely disconnect from the internet then start the game. Otherwise the game will just crash at the Ubisoft logo.

Quoting: onurBSounds nice.
Anyone tried if maby Paladins is running again?
Paladins and Ubisoft DRM are not fixed in this release. If there is better anti-cheat support in this version, it must be somewhere else. On the other hand, I did manage to start up Batman Arkham Knight which is supposedly still protected by Denuvo, didn't get to the in-game menu but getting to the intro videos is a start.

VK9, the open source project to implement d3d9 over Vulkan reaches another milestone
19 Dec 2016 at 12:51 am UTC Likes: 2

A lot of Linux games use a translation layer, whether it's with ToGL, IndirectX or eOn. On top of that there is also Gallium9 that does the same for Wine.

So a translation layer that does the same with Vulkan? I'm already sold!
Hope this lib can go from a little open source project from one developer to something big, used in the Linux gaming industry!
