Yeah, these games can be very picky about controllers, even on Windows  Sometimes turning Steam Input off for the game works.

Actually, scratch that!

If you're using a controller and not a racing wheel, you need to change the dll overrides and force Windows version to 7 as per these instructions:

Which TT isle of man? There seems to be a couple of games with that name.
Thanks for the tip and sorry for my delay. It worked! Even TT!

This is the game that I talked about:

Just to reference:
I set the Windows version of both prefixes as Windows 7

WRC8:

env WINEPREFIX="/home/<user>/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1004750/pfx" winecfg

TT Isle of Man:

env WINEPREFIX="/home/<user>/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/626610/pfx" winecfg

And set as launch options:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xinput1_3=b" %command%

WRC8,9,10 work couple of weeks with the proton-experimental.
before that they worked when you changed windows version to win7 in the prefix.
but now everything works, including forcefeedback with logitech wheels
I tried WRC8, it for some reason don't recognize any of my controllers, I tried even on Big Picture to see if Steam Input helps, no success. And for TT isle of man, still don't run.

WRC5 to 10 works, or I should say at least starts here. WRC5-7 do have issues with (some?) steering wheels.

Wine development release 6.17 is out with continued work for the GDI syscall interface

Hey Liam, just a complain:

I (and I bet that some others too) clicked in this post because "GDI Syscall" sounds interesting, you explained for the 234th time what is Wine, but don't put a word (or a link at least) about this syscall, as it's on the title, it should be important right? 😜

Valve dumped Debian Linux for Arch Linux with SteamOS 3 because surprise - faster updates

As it's more updated, it need to have a far better debugging and QA tests. I'm not sure if a gaming machine needs updated libraries.

Feral no longer porting A Total War Saga: TROY to Linux, citing less demand since Proton
27 Jul 2021 at 4:24 pm UTC Likes: 1

Proton is amazing, runs games without headaches, improving the experience by far, no way that's double edged knife, it's completely necessary.

Feral's work is amazing, they are really competent, but the idea of the needing of a company just to release a port is bizarre, problems with multiplayer, dlcs taking a long time to release, patches, etc. We need a first class treatment, the developer should release a Linux version, but this will never happen, so that's why proton is so important.

People need to watch the market, they saw this coming, they should find another way to make money.

A chat with Joshua Strobl of the Solus Linux distribution

Really nice interview.

Solus and budgie are amazing projects!

One thing that I would like to hear is about why they abandoned the idea of using Qt on Budgie.

Buck Up And Drive! is a completely absurd racer that throws realism out

It looks great and fun, but when I read "endless" and "randomly generated" I look at it a bit worried, worse if it's a racing game.

Dirt 4 for example, AMAZING game, I really love it, but the random aspect is a downside. The system is well implemented, some tracks is amazing but impossible to be memorable and you probably will not play a similar track, another problem is that is annoying to see a exact same curve in two completely different places, which happens a lot once you played all regions.
