Steam Link app now available for the Linux desktop

Quoting: CreakBut overall I don't think the fragmentation is that bad because:
* AppImage is clearly not the way to go and I think most developers knows that
* Snap is basically Ubuntu-only
* Flatpak is cross-distributions
I'm just curious, what's the problem with appimage? It seems to work fine, some big projects like onlyoffice and emulators like yuzu and rpcs3 have success

Quoting: fagnerlnIt's surprisingly that they are using flatpak, they should release Steam officially on flatpak or create a sandbox solution with their Steam Runtime, most of the users of rolling distros are having problems on CSGO because of the new glibc, which not happens with the flatpak version.
Steam has their Pressure Vessel system, called the "Steam Linux Runtime" in Steam itself, which is based on Flatpak - which is also why the Flatpak package of Steam has trouble using it.
They have a public gitlab project for pressure vessel at https://gitlab.steamos.cloud/steamrt/steam-runtime-tools/-/tree/master/pressure-vessel [External Link]

And they are also working on improving support of the Flatpak package of Steam;
https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues/3797 [External Link]
https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/pull/4018 [External Link]
https://gitlab.steamos.cloud/steamrt/steam-runtime-tools/-/merge_requests/203 [External Link]
Sure, but even using the runtime, csgo doesn't work. Looks like it's on a higher level than flatpak. Maybe if the steam itself run under the pressure vessel, would be more interesting.

And pretty nice links, I liked the concept of sandbox in a sandbox

Portal 2 gets more DXVK Vulkan improvements with another update

Quoting: legluondunetI enjoyed playing the first opus: a video game with such quality: humor, reflexion, action, ambiance...
Is this second opus as good as first one?
If you enjoy the first one, you'll enjoy the second, for sure. It has more everything, puzzles, mechanics, it's bigger and with better graphics.

But like others said, this no means that it's a better game. I have a lot of memories of portal 1, it's short but remarkable, the second, not much

They should expose the licensing on their site, it's nice the MIT licence on games developed.

And it's really nice that gdevelop export games to appimage, it's a big plus for Linux.

I'll try it sometime later, but event driven feels a bit limited, or makes things more confusing than they should be, at least is what I remember of when I was kid playing with Multimedia Fusion.

Plague Inc: The Cure is out now, free until 'COVID-19 is under control'

They earned a lot with this pandemy, many people started playing it because of covid, maybe a bad unintentionally marketing, and now with the cure they are making a genius marketing.
