Quoting: robvvLooks lovely, but the Steam reviews tell a different story. I'm on the fence with this one and will probably wait until the price becomes a little more sensible.
It's a beautiful game, but when I see the video before to read the reviews I already noticed some issues that they are appointing on the reviews. I think that they made a mistake choosing Hack n' Slash as genre, if it was a beat em up, it would fit better.

I find interesting how Linux users which spread "freedom" loves a law to hurt the freedom of a corporation. Google, Apple, Valve...

Those three it's on a comfortable state because they make good services. Instead of make the state interfere, just praise the alternative one

How in the hell a large cut is bad for competition? Wtf? This means that the competition have a wider cut to work: 25, 20, 15...

Just go to another store there's a bunch of them: itch, GoG, EGS, Windows Store, Humble, Origin, uPlay...

Proton Experimental gets upgraded, Forza Horizon 4 playable and Origin Overlay works

Quoting: leillo1975Sorry, but I played this game in dx12 mode some months ago with vkd3d, and it works. Some versions before the game gets stucked while loading before the main menu. Now simply don't run and only shows the crash report sender. Take a look, i'm not the only one

This is sad, I never managed to work the DX12 version, and as looks like you have a very different hardware/distro (if your GoL profile is updated), this makes things harder. Maybe you should try a newer kernel?

Quoting: The_Aquabatdidn't pay attention to the frame rates but seems playable for me. Ryzen 2600+ 5600XT 6GB.

btw what Mesa version are u running with Dirt 5?

EDIT: Just checked and I get steady 60fps.
Man, I tried it again, running smooth, 60fps on high! Those guys are awesome!

Quoting: leillo1975It don't work for me (GRID [External Link].... it shows me a "send-bug" window when I try to play it..... This game worked on past. I think they should be a little more concerned about not messing up some games to make others work. I spent my money on that game and now I can't enjoy it.

That's why it's handy to be able to switch between multiple Proton versions. It would be handy if they had a "community recommended" Proton version, and allowed voting (sort of like the Steam Controller profiles).

This game worked on the past because it used DX11, after some updates they cut off the DX11 version, now it runs only DX12, that's why it stopped to work until now.

The problem with proton is that even using the Runtime - Soldier it can work in some cases and not in another, even with similar configurations. Like I said before, this game is now working smoothly.

I don't have Dirt 5, I'm talking about GRID which I suppose that uses the same engine. When I tried the last time, I was using the latest Mesa 20. I'll try with Mesa 21 but I doubt that it can make that much difference.

The game starts using the maximum preset running below 20 fps, if I turn down to high it goes to 30-35. The game isn't heavy, I suppose that my GPU can handle it on high near to 60 fps

Switched to kisak Mesa fresh a year ago:
https://launchpad.net/~kisak/+archive/ubuntu/kisak-mesa [External Link]

With the latest Mesa PPA and Proton Experimental I am able to play Red Dead Redemption 2 - even the Multiplayer. Out of the box. Nö further tweaks needed.
latest kisak point release is borked for me some issue with DCC, (delta color compression), I already reported it... I'm on kisak mesa old stable for now.
Mesa git or Mesa 21.1 rc is needed for Dirt 5, because it exposes a needed feature.
How good it runs Dirt 5? GRID become playable a few "experimental" versions ago, but the performance is really bad on my computer (ryzen 5 1600 + RX580 4GB)

Godot Engine 3.3 is out with plans for 3.4 while 4.0 with Vulkan is still in progress

Quoting: setzer22Very excited about this update. With Godot 4 being in this long-term "almost there" state, it's very welcome to see so many needed features reaching the stable branches!
Godot 4 is ambitious, for what I've seen it will be in this "almost there" state for a long time to become a RC, or even a Beta. There's a lot of work for the team.

Godot 3 is already capable, this 3.3 is a very solid release
