The youtube sessions must also take quite a bit of time out of his day so think that its fair that those who want to and can afford to can pay something to keep the site going. I don't subscribe at the free key level but even if I did I wouldn't do it specifically for the keys, that's just a nice extra 'thank you' for being a patreon.

Quoting: rcritI still remember the dark days before GoL where finding reliable, reasoned news on Linux gaming was hit or miss and not even close in terms of real-time information. I'm happy to contribute to the site.Agreed! This is the best Linux gaming site by far and has well written timely articles and interesting content, as Liam said in one of the above comments you would pay about the same or more for a gaming magazine and I find this site way more valuable than any gaming mag I've subscribed to in the past.

I would definitely buy this game for Linux, there aren't enough RTS games like this any more.

Quoting: MaCroX95I'm in two minds about this. Would the low level graphics API devs not be best placed to squeeze the best performance out of the API rather than the game developers that I would expect would be more proficient in graphics, gameplay and storytelling? I think one of the reasons that DX12 seems to have stalled with so few games is that it seems to have moved some of the effort and costs onto the game developers rather than the OS/API/low level graphics developers that would have the in-house experience with low level API coding. Those guys don't come cheap.Quoting: AnxiousInfusionLooking forward most to Worst Practices talk. Vulkan leaves a lot of room for screw ups and I'm eager to see just how bad it can get.It does, but also leaves a lot of room for great performance increases to squeeze most out of the availible hardware power. Now devs will show not only their story ideas but also their programming and coding skills and true optimizations, because when games are poor optimized people won't blame Nvidia and MS's dx and Khronos's Vulkan, but rather will blame the poor optimization from developer's side which in my opinion is very healthy for developers to take care about, so Nvidia/AMD can take more time developing best possible Vulkan drivers and less time optimizing and fixing poor developers' faults in their titles...

.. Maybe it's a good excuse to get them to switch to a better OS ;)

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiT.. but better have no port at all than a only partly functioning one..I wholeheartedly disagree dude, I've been hoping for a Linux version since it was first announced. People can still enjoy the single player campaign and multiplayer with Linux and Mac, it's not like the lobbies will be empty. I do see your point that's its a shame we can't join matches with our Windows friends, but no reason not to release the game.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTEven though this is a new engine no cross platform multiplayer? Are you joking Feral? Hold of buying their multilayer games until that attitude is fixed!!!There are technical challenges with cross-platform multiplayer its certainly not a case of 'attitude'. For multiplayer to work across platforms and engines the game has to work the same way and at the same time, running different code on different platforms is a challenge for multiplayer.
Don't split the community again and again and again Feral! That really sucks! Sorry!
@Feral Interactive: Will the multiplayer being fixed this time any time soon?

Same here, I've been hoping this game would come to Linux since it was announced. I'm so happy right now :) Hopefully multiplayer support for Windows will be added later, but it's still a day one buy for me.

Quoting: liamdaweHey Liam, I think it would be awesome if you would be able to do an interview with Feral about Vulkan, questions like how challenging was the Mad Max conversion, experiences, pitfalls and wins from their first time developing a Vulkan title, how they see the API progressing, how the dev community is taking to the API, how it compared to working with OpenGL, etc, etc. I would find it really interesting if they can share some stories/info without giving away their trade secrets. Perhaps developers such as Yaakuro, Croteam and Khronos group themselves could also comment? I think that would be great content for the site, maybe as a follow up after the UK Vulkan meetup at the end of May?Quoting: lucifertdarkDepends what topics you want covered, we've interviewed them a few times.Quoting: liamdaweFeral likely have multiple development teams (I dont know any specifics about their internals fyi), likely working on more than one port at a time. People likely forget this. How about sweet talking someone over at Feral into doing a proper in-depth interview for the site? You know it makes sense. ;) If anyone from Feral are reading this, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on. You know you want to. ;)

I'd be very happy if the whole series was ported to Linux, I've sunk more time into Total War than any other series/franchise.
