Quoting: lejimsterAny discussion of Vulkan is good. We need to hear it talked about more and more. I want to see it adopted on PC as the standard going forward not DX12.I think that's starting to become much more possible. People and developers are finding that DX12 is not all it was hyped up to be (surprise, surprise) and Windows 10 adoption figures are not even halfway to the billion devices Microsoft projected/hoped for (surprise, surprise). People tend to use a more diverse set of operating systems for their devices than the Windows-centric world of old so I think it makes sense for developers to target the widest range of potential customers, and not just one version of Windows.

I've given up on waiting for the Galaxy client for Linux, and Witcher 3. Its clear that Linux users are an afterthought to CDPR and GOG.
Valve have done a HUGE amount to make Vulkan and Linux gaming more viable and the number of games in Steam is rapidly increasing, while CDPR have done nothing to help Linux gaming and have been giving empty promises about the GOG Linux client for many years now. My money goes to Valve every time.

The first two games were really good, I would definitely buy the 3rd if it came out for Linux, point and click Broken Sword type games are one of my favourite genres, I'd buy it regardless of some negative reviews.

This game looks fun and quite unique to me, I'll be interested in buying it when it comes out of Early Access, I don't like paying for Beta software.
Inner Chains, yet another Kickstarted title to delay Linux support

I agree with others, Kickstarter is not a pre-order system, its a funding system and has inherent risks of the loss of your investment. I learned the hard way that Kickstarter makes no guarantees whatsoever for the money that you pledge, they will just leave to contact the project owners and if you have issues with contacting them, they wont help you out.
Only offer a pledge if the developer has a good track record, and even then don't assume you will get anything on time, or at all.

This is great news! I'd love to have multiplayer games with my brother who hasn't switched to Linux yet.
F1 2016 won't be coming to Linux, as sales of F1 2015 weren't strong enough

I'm not surprised at all F1 2015 didn't sell. I have every single one of Ferals Linux games apart from F1 2015.
Firstly, F1 2015 had very bad reviews for Windows, it was known as a bad game. Also, just after F1 2015 was ported, the 2016 game was released so the game was dated even before release, it even has the "2015" year in the title, which dates it even more and puts people off. Who would buy FIFA 15 when FIFA 17 is available? Just like FIFA people buy the year version so they get up to date teams and team colours. With F1 2015 you are playing old cars, old drivers, old scenarios that don't relate to the current season.
Even when discounted I found no incentive to buy F1 2015, I just wouldn't play it. To be honest I wouldn't buy 2016 either if it came out, I personally find the whole Formula 1 and F1 games dull as dishwater.

Quoting: natewardawgDoes anyone else remember just a couple of months ago when this list only had three games on Vulkan? Dota 2, Doom and The Talos Principle? Its great to see that of the 8 listed PC games, 6 have Linux support.
There are now 12 games on the list with a current working Vulkan implementation:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_Vulkan_support [External Link]
DirectX12, despite being released nearly 2 years ago still only has 20 games on the list:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_with_DirectX_12_support [External Link]
The thing that strikes me is that many of the Vulkan ports are in beta, which as a developer says to me, "We really care about quality and feedback and want to give as good of an official release (first impression) as possible."

Its good to know the developers are still working on this, I know it can be difficult bugfixing, especially if you are dependant on 3rd parties that might not have the same priorities that you do.
