Yea, last month sucked for me. I took a gamble, and it didn't pay off.

I loved this game (and commandos). Would definitely pick up.
I still need to play shadow tactics though. A real current gen equivalent.

Valve have announced the Steam Link app and the Steam Video app (updated)

If they've now confirmed Linux as a supported host, why don't they update their news site!
This kind of ambiguity hurts the Linux community. You'd think they'd want to boast about Linux/SteamOS support....

Playing Prey on Linux in 2018

I thought the new Prey was going to be a sequel that was then made into a origin story. I had no idea they just stole the name.

Rise of the Tomb Raider announced for Linux, port from Feral Interactive

This is probably a great sign because it means the original Tomb Raider port was successful. Though the pessimist in me says they were paid to port to Mac, and the Linux version isn't much extra.

However, I do wish they'd try to get ports out sooner to the Windows launch. Surely they would make far more money that way. Since it looks like they're interested in porting Tomb Raider, I do hope Shadow of the Tomb Raider port happens more quickly. Only if you launch day one can you know the true Linux gaming market.

Adventure platformer 'Celeste' from the creators of TowerFall has released with Linux support

Im glad these retro games are coming out, but why couldn't they do graphics like the HD remake of Castle of Illusion, or the HD remake of DuckTales. Those look amazing, yet are still old school platformers. We seem to either get 90s graphics old school games, or full 3d modern games. I want more modern 2d games like the HD remake DuckTales.

The Steam Winter Sale is now live

I have an Nvidia shield (which I love). It has hardware accelerated streaming (h264 encode/decode) but the host has to run Steam on Windows, which is really disappointing.
Does the Steam Link stream from a Linux Nvidia desktop running Steam? Are all games supported?

What are you playing this weekend?

Shadow Tactics. It is incredible.

Yooka-Laylee released with day-1 Linux support, some quick initial thoughts

I've played a little so far. I'd agree with the nostalgia glasses. Some of the nostalgia is great. But some is not. In particular the voices. Man are they annoying after a few minutes of playing.
Also, I prefer the Banjo IP. I wish they'd just bought back the rights from Microsoft...
