Quoting: lucinosedit: I think I found a nice workaround. It is also on humble bundle.
If purchased on the Humble Store, is it a download or a steam code?

This article needs the Steam tag.

Though I guess Humble Bundle tag is these same thing these days.

Metro Exodus to get a release date for Linux "soon" say 4A Games

Quoting: celphyPretty torn over here. EGS's exclusivity is a no-go for me.
But I'd like to support a Linux version ASAP.
I know I am late to this conversation, but someone just linked me to it. I would like to point out that although they took an EGS exclusivity, the previous Metro games have been released on Linux DRM-Free. If the next one does also then it would seem there is more good-will than bad in the company.

Weird I rarely hear people complain about Steam exclusivity.

Quoting: EikeI have just finished The Red Strings Club [External Link], and while it's not traditional point and click, it deserves being played for its atmosphere and the questions it asks.
Heh, I had the opposite experience with it. I buy most things Devolver Digital and when I'm asked for reccomendations I steer people clear of Red Strings Club. It's more like a visual novel to me. Artsy linear narrative disguised as choices so you felt engaged or that you were being led to interpret the experience, but were beat over the head with a talking point.

I agree with the atmosphere though. It's too bad Ape Out isn't on these sales. It's part of the Devolver Digital sale on Nintendo Switch right now. That's one I recommend to just about everyone.

Pretty disappointed the newer Metro games don't have linux ports, especially since it's the same developer and publisher. I guess maybe the older ones weren't selling well enough to keep it up.

EDIT: Ape Out is on the Steam sale, so if you are one of the people that use Steam I recommend checking it out. Plays really well with headphones or a home audio setup.

Animal Crossing.

Lots, and lots of Animal Crossing.

The Humble Conquer COVID-19 Bundle is live with lots of Linux games and all going to charity

Quoting: sprocketIts a shame that so many of these games are locked behind Steam, with no DRM-free options.
Agreed, especially since the Humble Bundles used to focus on downloading and 'owning' your games direct from their service. I've stopped getting excited over Humble announcements due to their shift in distribution.

Speculation: porting studio Feral Interactive could be in some trouble (updated: they're fine)

Quoting: pete910Regardless of where you want to buy games from is no reason to wish/say such things about any firm/devs ect. You've basically ssaid you want people to lose there jobs just so you can buy "x" game on another store.
No I didn't. I said I would prefer them on a store with better consumer friendly policies, and the original post could have motivated that change.

Even if I had said that, there is nothing bad about it. There are plenty of places I don't shop, or media I don't partake in, or events I avoid for one reason or another. I'm not supporting everything just so people don't lose their jobs.

Quoting: JJNovaAwesome. Always nice to get more DRM-free releases.

Also happy to see something being added to the GoG library. It seems like a slow year for drm-free Linux games
It's slow for GOG but not overall. Itch.io has DRM free Linux releases every week.
I always forget to check itch.io
I think their site navigation keeps me from consistently visiting. Thanks for the heads up though, I need to check in with them more often.
