Dying Light looks really interesting to me. Any thoughts? I'm trying to find a few games to stream via my link and play with a stream controller

Quoting: AnzaTerraria is one of those games where you can feel somewhat lost if you don't take look at a guide at some point. It's more fun to play it when you have idea that there is better weapon or armor out there, you just have find all the ingredients and in case of ores, you might have to upgrade your pickaxe. There's lot of different things to do.

Truth to be told though, I gave up before final boss. I didn't feel like going back to previous boss in hope of getting random loot that would be needed to be able to craft a better weapon.
I can see that. I think my issue is that I want a perfect balance between "open world" and lore/story/progression, which is almost impossible to do in a procedural setting. I just didn't feel compelled to continue and progress. I think I'll return to it sometime later, when I'm more in the creative mood.

I was also put off by the night time. It felt like just waiting while the game progressed without purpose. I know I could craft or something, but if I ran out of supplies, I just had to wait.

Tried Terreria. Sadly I feel bored with it pretty quickly. I think I just want in the mood.

Switched over to Crying Sun's with proton. Liking it quite a bit, although it's inspiration from ftl is obvious, the setting is quite nice. Reminds me a bit of eclipse phase

Not much gaming for me. Besides visiting family, I'm also preparing to wire my house in Cat5/6.

Unfortunately, my house was built at the time techniques and materials were changing from the early 20th century to more contemporary times, and takes the worst if both: old construction techniques with cheap materials.

On the plus side, I can now say I've seen a joist and a wall interior also used as an air duct...Wtf

  • I don't really like the tower defense element in game.
  • IIRC - I think you can turn off the combat or at the very least, severely limit that aspect of it. I've always enjoyed some of it, but I believe it's in the options.

Quoting: denyasisStill learning Star Ruler 2. It's such a fun game, I'm sad it didn't get more attention, especially with it being open source. Even weirder it doesn't seem to appear in repos.
On Ubuntu, it appears as a snap. snap install starruler2
well, I've learned something! I looked around the SUSE repos, didn't see anything, and assumed. I stand corrected!

Quoting: BloodaxeNORI've been playing DRAG, and it's been great fun! Playing online is very fun, but there are some weird lagspikes every now and then that seem connected to server performance.

Star Ruler 2 is opensource? That's awesome!
Yeah, they devs Opensourced it when the Studio closed up shop. It includes everything but the music. The source and instructions to compile are here. I had install make and cmake and a few other misc dependencies (I'm on a very minimal OpenSuse install and had nothing for builds installed at all).

It was painless to build. Here's the link Star Ruler 2 From Blind Mind Studio [External Link]

So far a lot of fun, but pretty hard

    Star Ruler 2 - github

Tried it some time ago and didn't like planet resource mechanic. Tried it again knowing it was different and I've found I really like the game. It would be my dominions5 in space if it were turn based. Sadly it's RTS, but still very good.

Took a break from KSP, I'll be back to it soon. And then maybe Cities: skylines. It looks like a lot of fun
