I bought it and my first impressions are good. The graphics are gorgeous and smooth on ultra on my 1050ti laptop. The controls do feel a bit different from Dirt Rally and based on reviews I am not sure I will play it as long as I did Dirt Rally, but I expect to get enough hours of fun of it to justify the price.

Quoting: buenaventuraAlso apparently the GOG version of Stellaris is no good since it does not support cross platform MP I think? As in you can only play with other GOGers, not with steam people. If MP is what yo after.
Are you sure about that? Paradox made their own launcher and untied the multiplayer from Steam last year so people using the paradox launcher can play with those using steam.

And the GOG Stelaris page claims:

Stellaris includes a beta version of the new PDX multiplayer system, allowing for cross-play with friends regardless of which PC games distribution platform they are playing from. Paradox will continue to support and develop this feature.

Quoting: MohandevirDoes the fact that CrossOver now integrates Wine 4.0 means that Proton is near from getting it too? Isn't Proton CrossOver based?
Valve is working with Codeweavers for proton but it does not use any crossover code that is not in wine as far as I know, it uses wine, dxvk and some other opensource projects. Proton will be based on wine 4.0 or newer when its fits protons development schedule.

I got beyond Earth + the DLC and Geometry Wars 3 from the Aspyr sale. I held back on Beyond Earth despite liking Civilisation and scifi games due to the initial bad reviews, but read that the DLC fixes a lot, and for that price I take a chance, and Geometry wars looks like a fun arcade shooter.
