Gamedevs (mostly) don't care. They are not releasing software to push a platform. They are releasing software to earn money.

Quoting: LeopardTo the all developers ; if you don't support Linux ,of course our base won't grow.To all the Linux users:
Main problem is ; they want to push only Windows for not to spend time with learning new things and platforms. They're totally cool with possible MS lockdown because they will keep earning pennies ; who cares?

Great game that I follow for many years already - I even submitted to GOL some articles about it in the past!
Very fun action multiplayer game (and now also with singleplayer campaign). Definitely recommended.

Cosmic Star Heroine, yet another Kickstarted game to delay Linux support

Cosmic Star Heroine is being made by 3-4 people, and releasing simultaneously on four platforms: Windows, Mac, PSVita and Playstation 4.
How is that different to you? Do you seriously think that 2D games don't need much work?
Now as much as I don't enjoy having Linux releases delayed, how do you think, does that make more sense for them to focus more on the most profitable platforms (with 2 of them having biggest share in the video games market), or to start their focus with the single least profitable platform first?

Quoting: LeopardI can understand delays on titles like 'Inner Chains' ; but delay on 2d indie games like this is just unacceptable.Inner Chains is being made by a small (8-12 people according to their Kickstarter) indie studio in Warsaw, and announced for two platforms: Windows and PS4 (plus VR support).

Guns of Icarus is definitely a cool game to play with a couple of friends, when you roleplay the roles of the ship crew using the voice chat :)

It's a pretty cool game, although I got bored after a few hours. The game is so sandboxy by nature, while I really like having objectives.

So basically you have to login to your precious Steam account on a third-party machine you know nothing about, only to be greeted by a Windows desktop? For a dollar per day? No, thanks.

Quoting: GuppyHow does it play compared to day of defeat?More realistic and a bit slower. Also, I would say the maps are bigger. Other than that, pretty similar. Some maps are even directly influenced by Day of Defeat maps.

Even though I like Insurgency more (because of weaponry, classes and size of the maps), this game is also very damn awesome. Supporting New World (the devs behind Insurgency and Day of Infamy) is definitely worth it. Their next upcoming game - Insurgency: Sandstorm - is coming to Linux as well!
