Quoting: coolboberGame itself starts. I can only hear audio. On screen I am able to see only feral logo (without animation - before was with animation) and then game mouse cursor with black background. Terminal shows nothing special. I will contact you, via "official way" later, maybe this is a steam issue.I submitted a report very much like this one. For me the screen froze at the feral logo as well. But only on OpenGL+Fullscreen. Vulkan and OpenGL+Windowed were fine. Worth a check.

Some things developers might want to think about when bringing a game to Linux

Interesting read. Nothing too surprising for me, but it's good to have a place to start for small developers that are thinking about doing a Linux release.
Another pitfall I haven't seen mentioned here is the difference between a native and steam release. I remember one game where the developer had a Unity3D game running within a day, but had dependency problems when starting from the Steam runtime.

Opening up a private beta to a few select people is always an option too, there's many ways to get users involved early. As they "other big thread" clearly demonstrates, don't do involuntary beta testing under the flag of a released product. It won't end well.

The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2

This is a pretty lame excuse. Are they now not going to make a new Windows game because of the backlash from the Windows users at release of TW3? That was orders of magnitude worse. It's the internet. If you can't stand foul language, better move into a cave.

Quoting: UltraVioletcool, this bug only effects nvidia hardware? i have the same set up with a amd card and have had no problems with FireFox everPossible. It had something to do with the allocation of large memory pages. If those were effectively allocated by the nvidia driver, then it could be that. It may have been other combinations of hardware though.

Quoting: NanobangIt was fixed in Ubuntu (going by two weeks without a crash). Don't know about Mint.Quoting: EhvisWas it fixed in Ubuntu as well? Or just Mint?Quoting: UltraVioletgood news, i wonder if this driver might fix a problem i have while using FireFox and my whole system locking-upThat was a kernel bug that Ubuntu introduced by incorporating patches from an unreleased kernel into theirs. Apparently Mint happily copied it. After it being in there for three months, it was finally fixed recently.

This is more a measure of success. Apparently 6% refunds is a pretty normal number. And if 6% adds up to 4.4 million, you're doing amazingly well.

Quoting: grumpytoadI'm unsure why the game is not marked on steam as linux compatible, anyone know why that is?Because you need to choose it from the beta branch. It is explained in the 22 June news post.

Quoting: malek69Witcher 3The only weird thing I noticed was that the water doesn't look quite right. There is something "low res" going on there. Is that normal or one of the remaining issues for Wine?
