I've played it for a couple of hours. It's working flawlessly and it's highly addictive. I also appreciate that there is a good selection of rock and metal in this game instead of the usual stuff you find in rhythm games. For an early access title this one is pretty solid.
There are a few things that I would like to see happen during EA though:
- On the index controllers you need to pull the trigger all the way to the end click for it to register. This occasionally causes me to miss a shot. But I read that a sensitivity setting is being worked on, so that should be good.
- There is no difficulty rating for the songs even though some are clearly harder than others on the same level.
- Obviously the point is to time based on the rhythm of the music and not on the visual queue of the target reaching the destination. This is actually essential since you should have your eyes on the next target before that happens. However, in practice there are certain sequences in some songs that I can't seem to get without looking for the timing. Probably has to do with the fact that I have no technical knowledge of music whatsoever and that I would consider myself somewhat rhythmically challenged, but I still think this is something that should not be a problem in recruit difficulty.
I hope this game does well so we can have some expansions with more music.

According to a Stadia developer, streamers should be paying publishers and it backfired

The thing that separates streaming/youtubing games from music/tv/series, is that a substantial part of it is the input of the player. How much depends on the particular game, but there are youtubers out there that are able to make a game way more interesting because of the way they (role)play it. This makes the whole "rights" question way more difficult. Is the audiovisual output of the game the actual content that you paid for? What if I bought a guitar and put a video out on youtube of me playing the guitar. Should I now owe the guitar manufacturer a licence fee for showing the particular instrument and how it sounds? I'd wager most game devs would rather stay out of this one and take the free exposure instead.
You may want to avoid Linux Kernel 5.9 if you want fully supported NVIDIA drivers

There was a time when upgrading to the latest kernel version was not the way to go and should be left to those living on the edge. Something that is still possible with nvidia nowadays since new graphics drivers don't depend on new kernel versions. I don't remember ever upgrading my kernel without a distro update. Sounds to me like having this issue is a hint.

Quoting: tuubiI guess you never played Sierra's classic adventures. Or Grim Fandango with its awesome/awful tank controls. :)The actual old Sierra classics certainly didn't have tank controls. Press cursor key to start walking in that direction, press it again to stop walking. And with that you had to safely pass under dripping acid. :D

Tried the demo over the weekend. No technical issues at all, but could do with a few refinements. Still a very well executed native VR game with an interesting selection of songs. I'll be there on day 1!

Tried it for a bit. Couldn't do much since the demo doesn't have key rebinding. Combat is still not really my thing, but that's personal taste. Thanks for supporting Linux though. That's always appreciated!
