I like the look of the game, but it's too much maze and too little puzzle for my taste. Still looks like a good game for the right audience though.

Yes, he did. Lately, I am getting more and more convinced to go for an AMD card next upgrade, since I am both a Linux and a VR user. Looking forward to that AMD Big Navi or Navi 2x or RDNA 2 or whatever it is called. :)
To be fair, it's not actually performance that is the problem, it's how things are handled when the framerate is not reached. Apparently Mesa/RADV has helpful extensions that nvidia doesn't.

It's a setting in the per app graphics settings.

Quoting: ShmerlThat's good to know, Liam! If you have access to their Discord, can you please ask if they already implemented this item [External Link] in UE5:
What do you want to ask? Vulkan in UE4 is already there. For UE5 they wouldn't start using OpenGL.
He's referring to the multithreaded rendering. Vulkan (and DX12) may be supported, but they don't actually improve performance.

Quoting: NezchanI'd rather not have to resort to Proton for a supposedly native game, but I may have no choice in the long run.
Have you tried Linux Runtime as a compatibility tool that you can select the same place as Proton?
Hell, I don't even understand what that sentence means!
It's a special Linux runtime that may work better with older games. It's listed as a steamplay choice in the same place as the proton versions.

Quoting: Guest... from serious stuttering. In the VR world, it's called reprojection. I do not suffer from this on Windows with the same hardware.
Windows has all that async reprojection + motion smoothing that is not yet in the Linux steamvr.

Anyway, I simply avoid it by choosing settings that almost never exceed the allocated frame times and putting it on legacy reprojection. But that's for nvidia though.

we need benchmarks comparing the performance on windows and linux...
Someone else will need to. I do not own a VR set, too expensive for me.
I wonder how you would actually do that. The best I know how to get is a frametime graph.

When I see the amount of hours that people put into these types of games, it's safe to say that you're not supposed to understand everything in a "mere" 10 hours.
