This is nice! I've always been interested in PICO-8 but put off by non-FOSS and cost. This seems like a great alternative! It's fun to create under constraints.

Liam, how could you not name this article "The End is Nigh for Linux"? Are you not British? ;)

Quoting: RafiLinuxSold. Picking this game up tomorrow!
A solid choice, I've played about 5h and it is REALLY great :D I love the soundtrack, the style. To me it's like a mix between hyperlight drifter (but with better/more engaging story/characters) and No More Heroes for the Wii - which is great! I find the controls/combat really tight and fun.

Quoting: buenaventuraDear Liam,

This looks nice! I was just wondering if you think it would be possible to play this with my SNES-controller? Or do you need dual-stick to aim a gun or anything, like in HyperLight Drifter? I prefer to just play with my SNES controller.

Thanks.
A second stick is not required, you can control movement entirely by DPAD if you wish. Everything else is buttons, but it needs shoulder buttons.
Awesome, thanks! I will go ahead and buy it! My controller has 2 shoulder buttons, should be fine.

Sunless Skies has released with day-1 Linux support, quick thoughts on this unfinished title

Quoting: JudasIscariotThe system requirements are out on both the GOG and Steam pages for the game :)
Of course, for some reason I thought since it was early access they wouldn't be there, but you are right!

Minimum system requirements - Linux: Ubuntu 14.04, 16.04 or later
Processor: SSE2 instruction set support
Memory: 1 GB RAM
Graphics: Graphics card with Shader Model 3.0 support
Storage: 700 MB available space
Sound Card: Any

Those are LOVELY system reqs :D

I sure felt Sunless Sea was kinda grindy, especially when you died and started over, and visited the same places over and over. I am so happy to read this:

"I think what really helps, is that the pace of the game seems quite a lot faster when compared with the previous game, so it doesn't feel so gruelling to play."

The pace of the boat was quite enervating to me. This is one of the few games I am really looking forwards to, especially since my computer will probably run it well!

(I hope! Anything about system reqs revealed?)

This is something I've waited for as well, too bad my graphics card probably wont handle it though! But in the future, I will buy this.

Quoting: Code Artisan-25% Alwa's Awakening [External Link] (My current favorite game for this year)
I've been very interested in Shovel Knight [External Link] 20% off, it seems to never go much on sale, and it's still quite an expensive title, but it's tempting. I want a game to play with my SNES controller!

Would Alwas Awakening be playable with SNES controller? I might look at that instead. Is the game very hard? Except for the price, the thing that puts me off Shovel Knight is difficulty - I have little patience for very hard games (like "I wanna be the guy" - I got quite far, but in the end tired of redoing stuff).
