Quoting: razing32
Quoting: buenaventuraI have
AMD quadcore A8-6410 ("up to 2.4 GHZ" but according to cpufreq-util actually never above 2,00)
Mullins Radeon "R5 M240" weirdly named 1gb VRAM graphics card
8gb RAM

You would think that I could play PoE, and I did play it some, but man is it laggy and shitty and slow, I can't stand it. I bought BG:EE and experienced the INSTANT transitions and unlaggy movement etc. and I just could not go back to 20 second interruptions and swooping around with the choppy camera in PoE. I really loved the game and tried alot to play, but I will just wait ca. 5 years until I buy a new computer I guess :<. The main attraction for me was the writing, so I would be happy if I could play it in infinity engine, same with Tyranny and Torment Numenera also. I wish someone does a "demake" of those into IE honestly, or something. They only need the words.
I hope I am not being an ass when I say this , but , has anyone ever made a "demake" before ?

I have seen older games re-made in the engines of newer games as a tribute (Utlima made in Neverwinter 1 for example) but have not heard of things going backwards.
Behold, Soundless Mountain II [External Link] :)

From this competition [External Link]. Otherwise, no, I wish there were more!

Quoting: buenaventuraSounds awesome, too bad I do not have the CPU for it :< minimum req is quite beefy actually. For no reason. I wish they used infinity engine.
Really? You must have a pretty old CPU. I played Pillars of Eternity (same engine) on a 1.9Ghz Intel i5 laptop from 4 years ago, with a weak HD4000 iGPU and was able to play it fine. The laptop ran pretty hot, but was otherwise Ok.

Their engine is MUCH more visually attractive than the old infinity engine (I've been playing the enhanced editions recently)...it's really very pretty. There's no need to look back!

I see, so it's like specially adapted versions of Wine. I have one for Gallium 3D, which is nice. Thanks!

What does Staging mean, really? I've interpreted it as similar to "experimental" or some such.

Quoting: buenaventuraI got the Humble Positive Bundle for Curious Expedition, that game seems to never go down very much in price, so 10 dollars for it is sort of a bargain.
Yes, my purchase of the (full) Humble Positive Bundle was due to wanting to try out Curious Expedition. That game was the main influence for me, but the others (for Linux) also helped. Even Underrail, which I too would like to try under WINE.

Tempted by the new tinyBuild bundle, mainly for "The Final Station" game... but I own some of that bundle already (well the Linux titles that appeal to me). So, I haven't jumped on that one yet.
So how are you liking the expedition? I just lost on the 6th map, mauled by giant crab, after being seriously ravaged by rampant alcoholism and pyromania ^__^' I could not enter any event without the place being mysteriously on fire afterwards! Also, everyone rebelled when the whisky ran out. It was fun anyhow! Will try again with a new explorer.
