Mesa patched to help render The Witcher 2 correctly on radeonsi
10 Jan 2017 at 8:40 am UTC
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Mullins [Radeon R4/R5 Graphics] [1002:9851] (rev 05) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
It's GCN 1.1 I hear, but clearly not very good (1GB VRAM it says on the sticker). However some games work quite fine - I play Mirror's Edge with Wine (gallium staging) quite OK for example. I use the drivers from padoka ppa, glxinfo says "OpenGL core profile version string: 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 13.1.0-devel - padoka PPA".

Quoting: chimpyHave you enabled beta build for Linux in the properties tag? That gave me a bit more performance.I bought it on GOG, so I'm not sure how I would get that beta linux build :O
Quoting: ShmerlIt's very good for me on max settings (RX 480 / Mesa 13.0.2). What hardware and Mesa version do you use? Also, remember to always keep ubersampling disabled.Granted, my hardware is not particularly good (laptop with quad core 2.4ghz, 8gb RAM), this is my GPU:

Performance for me in witcher 2 is just horrendous even on absolute bottom settings. I wonder if this patch will help? Is it already in padoka ppa?

I am curious about this, but I do not think my computer is good enough for XCOM 2 really. RadeonSI drivers on a GCN 1.1 southern islands card, laptop, 8gb RAM. It's like the minimum almost, but meh. I wish!
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is about to get ~70% better performance with RadeonSI

I like the look of it, reminds me of Age of Empires 2 :D Is it very grindy? I hate crafting man, most stupid game idea of recent times.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTI'd also say it looks quite impressive! You can not expect a Starcraft II clone with the exact same quality from a team with much less monetary resources. That's what I mean, why try to copy sc2 with a fraction of the budget? Do something original instead, like Offworld Trading Company [External Link], I wish that would be ported to linux.
If the game is out of early access and if it's considered to be good at that time it's an instabuy!

What makes this stand out in any way? It looks like a crappy alpha build of sc2. And that trailer, man, I am staying AWAY from this game :P I'm sure their intentions are good anyhow!

Yay, I just asked the developer about this yesterday, and they were friendly - I told them I would tell GoL about it, but I guess you beat me to it! :D I will buy this, looks very fun. The soundtrack is awesome.
