I realize that for the full screen issue, if you can't alt+tab, you can bind a key to show desktop in keyboard settings on GNOME, use that to go back to the desktop and then use a keybind for fullscreen to maximise the game window again to bypass the bug. This is yet another way.

Feral uses indirectX. It's a wrapper or a 'translation layer' as some might call it.
You can't expect it to work like Wine which has been doing this for ages. What i like about it, is that i don't need wine for this stuff.
Wine is counter productive at the same time as it is productive for the Linux community. In fact, if you ask me, wine has held native ports back for a very long time.
In that sense, thank God for steam runtime etc.
I have chosen not to install wine on my system. I either use something that's natively available, an alternative or i don't use anything at all. So Life is Strange native is really good.
Thank you @ dontnod for a fantastic game and Feral for a decent port. And Square for not making it difficult for this to happen (i've heard of publishers doing that).

Just put an = sign there and apply.
When you launch the game, it will popup an error.. click ok on the error (don't click cancel) and the game will auto minimize. Just click on it again and you're in fullscreen mode and playing.
Don't think this issue exists on SteamOS. Just if you're using another disto/DE, then maybe. I'm running Arch with Gnome 3.20.x.
For those of you seeing a blackscreen on launch in fullscreen mode, this will also workaround that.
I suspect it has to do with the Unreal logo. I remember Windows users had this problem too when the game launched for Windows. Also, initially i thought it had to do with the location of the game folder (mine is in a non default location on another drive).. so i symlinked the location to the default one and it didn't fix it either. So pretty sure it's that Unreal logo issue Windows users initially had. I'd read some reports that some Mac OS users also face this so i don't think it's due to the OS but more to the game bug that originally existed in the Windows version.
I'd report it but i think Feral is only supporting SteamOS for this and not other distributions so i'm not sure if i should.

Quoting: Vash63I'm unable to run the game in full screen mode, just get a full black screen.Found a workaround for this. Go to either advanced options in the Feral launcher or right click on the game and go to properties and under advanced options..
Nvidia 367.35 on Arch w/ Gnome.

DrMcCoy obviously seems to enjoy gaming to some extent. I honestly hope he gets an upgrade to enjoy some of the things coming to our platform finally`
Not sure how much these things cost over there though. I'd reckon it's possible to get a 3rd gen i5 really cheap on a 2nd hand site though. Dosen't seem like the GPU requirements are too high, can probably get away with an entry NVIDIA 750ti. I think those are really good and affordable if you get it used.

If it was me, i'd just leave it at that if i can't meet the minimum requirements. Not add all the stuff that does not matter and qq about having no lack of things to do. I don't think that's necessary for someone who isn't 'whining'.
I hope you get to upgrade at some point and enjoy the game. It's unfortunate that you cannot play it at this point.

Be fair to the developers. You aren't meeting the minimum requirements and your post about the game didn't make it clear that you weren't. You seemed to strike the port in a bad light in fact. Only after looking at the game min/recommended requirements and your PC specs did i notice that you didn't meet the requirements. I'd say it's good that it runs even.
That being said, back to the topic at hand.. it works well for most it seems.

Quoting: DrMcCoyWhining again.Quoting: cxphergmailcomif you're here whining about how a game does not fit your systemYes, because "A shame, oh well, I have other things to do" is clearly whining.
Please reread my post.
Quoting: cxphergmailcomLike i said, upgrade your processor. Please reread my post.
Like I said, I have no money to upgrade at the moment.
So I will just not play the game and do something else. Big Whoop.
