That's great, a good reason to support them (on top of them being supportive, Linux-friendly, and all 'round nice guys). :)

Any idea if that's the retail release, or if there will be a Linux beta (or RC, or something)?
Desura has new games! 2 DROD games and Spectra

Well, the regular and awesome sales promotions are a huge one. I remember that for a while, when I launched Desura, a little box would pop up with the latest promotions, but I don't see it any more. Hm.
IndieRoyale is great, but it's hard to justify buying Linux games that way (only one so far has offered two Linux games, one AGS game that works with the Linux AGS interpreter, and one dead simple RPG Maker XP game which is almost guaranteed to work perfectly on Linux).
Yeah, Desura could do a better job of promoting their games. That said, it's like four guys. Who's going to do that work? To my knowledge, they actually curate their games better than Valve in some cases (check out The War Z controversy).

Correction... second golden age. Remember Quake, and Loki, and RuneSoft, and LGP, Abuse (Crack Dot Com), Doom ported, Rise of the Triad ported, Heretic & Hexen ported, and a few others, all clustered around '98-'01 ...
We thought it was going to happen... and we worked to make it so. Back then, you could join in with ~200 or so folks to pre-order a boxed version of a RuneSoft game (early crowd-funding!!!) and they would use that money to pay their engineers to port games for us!
They would port for free (of contract fee) only using the pre-order money directly from the Linux gamers to keep engineers paid, and split the the royalties from sales on the Linux version, and for the most part, they were able to keep going that way! Of course that particular Golden Age collapsed with the "dot bomb" Internet bubble collapse.
I love where we are now, because there is an enormous selection of wonderful games of a wide variety of genre. In fact, what is not well-represented are AAA console ports like the very popular Modern Military Shooters (Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, etc). Since those aren't interesting to me, I'm not particularly bothered by that "shortcoming".

Linux Stretch Goal for Dreamfall:Chapters

Linux support is all but guaranteed here. I estimated that it would be reached by Monday evening (US time), but seeing as the funding goal was only reached a few hours ago, I have to revise that. Unless we in the Linux community really all push super hard, I think we'll see Linux & Mac guaranteed sometime very early Tuesday.
Dagon engine that poweres the horror game Asylum is open sourced

They certainly have! In addition to the entire engine, with a commitment to Linux, and it currently working in Ubuntu (at least), they've released the game assets to the tech-demo/teaser for Asylum, to give the adventure game & modding community something very finished to play with. Also, upon release of the Asylum game, they will be producing a (closed) Asylum SDK, much like Frictional did with Amnesia, so that the modding community can do conversions on the Asylum game itself.
We should keep our eyes out for the next Dagon-based adventure called "Adamantus" as well.

It is also going to be a beautiful, atmospheric, first-person adventure game. It is by a different team, called RealmsForge, who will certainly be collaborating with Senscape as the engine continues to be improved-on. I've had a short interaction with the lead designer of Adamantus, Cleo Mullins, and she confirmed that they're pretty excited to bring the game to all of Dagon's supported platforms.
This is a really wise move... I think you kind of have to do that with indie titles these days. You need to capture all your revenue to keep going. Due to the lukewarm critical reception on Double Fine's "The Cave" (and the delays due to bugs), it may well be our Linux community, and the Mac folks, that make that title come out ahead. Not to derail the the topic (we should discuss The Cave on the already-existing thread), but I'm just drawing a comparison.
Anyway, what's most exciting to me is that Adamantus will not be in the horror or survival-horror genre, but a science-fiction adventure instead! Seeing that they're hosted on Senscape's site, along with their forums, I'm thinking that they are strongly supporting this team to help get a second independent title kicked off on Dagon.
Open-source, great-looking, and strongly committed? Hell yeah. These are the good-guys :-)
(Oh, and NO they didn't pay me a dime... actually, I'm giving THEM a crap ton of my hard-earned Linux programmer cash, hehe)

Spatial-Flux - A Pixel Art style Text Adventure set in Space

First campaign did not fund, and then re-launched a week or so ago.

Still looking really good, and is still on Linux. Pretty cool that pledging £25 lets you design an event! Those quirky backer events are a large part of what made FTL cool (I know, Spatial Flux is not FTL, but there are enough similarities, in that respect, that I feel certain that they'd have a similar effect).
I hope you make it this time! Consider transitioning the project to Desura's alpha-funding program if possible. That might help you raise the Greenlight submission fee, and maybe a few pence extra :)

Do you do screen recordings with audio to put up on YouTube, or would it be text and screenshots only?
I've had great luck doing screen captures using recordMyDesktop for games that are not in full-screen and are not graphically-intensive, and using OpenShot to edit them. I still need to more knowledge and practice, but the tools make it easier :)

Well, they're halfway there with less than half the time to go. I agree, the project creator needs to do continuous promotion to meet the goal, but from what I've seen so far, he is doing so.
Probably the adventure gaming community is his best bet. I must say, I'd love to see a spate of compelling first-person adventure games implemented on the Dagon engine, as I'm an inveterate adventure game fan :)
