Quoting: PortariusHey,

One of the devs is here ^_^

Quoting: PhiladelphusInteresting, though it looks like you don't move the little guy around at all and have to rely on portals and momentum, making it a game where you can't ever really stop and consider your options. A pity. I might still check out a Let's Play and see if it still looks fun though.
That's the main idea - use portals only and we tried to add movement mechanics, but it felt immediately to easy, perhaps we should try it again, but in the different way, because you're not the first one who asked us about that :)
Oh, hey! I don't think it's a bad design to have no direct control over the player character's movement—it distinguishes it from other games like the Flash 2D Portal game—I just personally prefer to be able to take breaks from action to stop and catch my breath, as it were. But watching the trailer again it doesn't seem quite as hectic as I thought the first time; it looks like you could get into a holding pattern with two portals on the floor if you needed time to think. And as a big fan of Portal the inability to move might be an interesting challenge. And the soundtrack sounds nice…y'know what, I'll give it a try. :)

Stardew Valley multiplayer beta is now available

Quoting: KithopOne other thing we found out, particularly because my lumberjacking-and-rock-busting drains energy quite quickly, is that one player (even the host) can go to bed, say 'yes I want to sleep for the night', and their energy will slowly start to refill while the other people are still up and playing. The day will roll over only when all players are in bed, but if someone (me) is burning energy fast, you can have a mid-day nap while your friends are up and about in town, get half an energy bar (or more) back, then go chop some more. :D
Oh, interesting. I'm hoping to play with a friend come this weekend, so this is really useful to know!

There’s Always a Bigger Fish: Come face to face with a number of unique gargantuan creatures that exist and thrive in the vacuum of space.
Annnnd I'm sold. I picked up Leviathans pretty much entirely for the incredibly awesome Ether Drake. I love the concept of space-based lifeforms sailing through the void, looking on all our planet-based life as so many motes of dust. ^_^

Quoting: TheSHEEEPThis will be the perfect game to play when GF+me are looking for something relaxing to play.
Right now our go-to game is Vermintide 2, but a) Windows :/ and b) not exactly relaxing ;)

Edit:
Does anyone know how MP will actually be working?
Will it be a dedicated server structure, or will the host basically simulate the entire game on his machine for everyone?
Or does everyone have a copy of the game state?

I'm not worried about cheaters (this is a game you'll likely play with friends, not some random people).
From what I've read about it I believe it's one person hosting with up to three people joining. The host will be the primary farmer (like in single player now), while everyone else will be "farm hands" who have their own houses on the farm and can interact with villagers, get married, and start families just like the host. This is all just based on reading snippets from Eric Barone though.

Drilling wells and selling oil, some thoughts on Turmoil and its DLC

I picked it up back around Christmas and have been having a blast with it. I can see how rushing through the game to write a review on it would sour the experience though; I typically play 1—3 levels per play session as it's a great game for picking up for some short gaming sessions. I definitely think the "The Heat Is On" expansion improved the campaign quite a bit by giving you a bunch of money to start with, allowing you to play with the fun toys a lot sooner (I'm still only two-thirds through it at this point). I <3 moles, I love those furry digging probes! ^_^

The basic gameplay is relatively simple (and the default campaign at least does a pretty good job of allowing you time to slowly unlock all the various components rather than throwing you in at the deep end), but there's a ton of depth to maximizing your profits, especially with the introduction of gas allowing you to boost prices. There's actually some decently complicated calculus and differential equations that go into figuring out the optimum amount of wagons to buy, oil to store, holes to drill, and the exact best time to sell all your oil while the price is high (not too soon, not too late) in order to maximize your profits. It's basically a game all about optimization when you drill down to it (pun totally intended), which is probably why I'm so hooked on it. :D

RPG Tower of Time has a big update to their Linux build, leaving Early Access this month
4 Apr 2018 at 11:25 am UTC

Picked it up back around Christmas but hadn't gotten around to playing it yet due to all the other games I picked up concurrently. Runs fine for me on Debian testing (if a bit low frame-rate on my GTX 750 Ti, but that's not their problem), and I left them a note to that effect. :) I don't play a lot of RPGs, but this one seemed a bit different and intriguing, and has some great voiceover work for the videos.

On the off chance it's relevant or helpful, I just checked and I'm still running version 375.82 of the Nvidia drivers. And now you guys have me afraid to update. :P

Steam got an official version of the patch…a week or two ago? I hadn't tried it until just now, but it seems to be working fine for me. :S:
