Quoting: Liam DaweAh, I couldn't quite convince myself they were both connected since only one had the battery percentage. Thanks.Quoting: PhiladelphusSemi-related random question I couldn't quite answer from the video: is it possible to attach more than one controller to the Deck via Bluetooth simultaneously? I'm wondering if it'd be possible to hook it up to a TV and play multi-player games with friends that way. I don't have multiple controllers to check myself and don't want to pick some up only to discover it doesn't work…Yep at one point the video even shows it with Xbox and PlayStation controllers both being on and connected.

So, I was really on the fence about this, because I liked the idea of a kickstand but don't need to mount my Deck all over the place. I've got some long flights in a few weeks, however, and I've been realizing that a kickstand would be really nice to have when playing while seated at a table or desk, so I decided to get the basic kickstand bundle so I can prop my Deck up on the airplane. It arrived today, and I'm an instant convert. I mean, I still don't need extra mounts, but for the basic kickstand, this thing is great. The spring-loaded mount attachment for the kickstand is absolutely genius – dead simple to put on and take off, but very secure. I've yet to fill up my internal storage, but I'm sure the two microSD card slots will eventually come in handy (I tried one and it was a good, solid fit). All in all something I can definitely recommend.

Quoting: MayeulCI'm surprised, I thought rsync already used rolling hashes. If it's open source, perhaps they will be.
There's also casync in that space: https://github.com/systemd/casync/ [External Link] (the blog post is quite nice IIRC).
If it's similar but better than rsync, I feel like these improvements shoukd be folded into rsync.

Quoting: PenglingI recently saw a description for this - "video games as video games", describing the medium when it's used for fantastical things, rather than for emulating things that exist in real-life in some form. Space Invaders is considered to be the first game of that kind. That's an interesting way of thinking about/classifying games–thanks!

Phew! I just squeaked in there buying it on the 31st!
I found out recently I'm actually among the fairly early players; I found it sometime between 2008–2010 (and was obsessed off-and-on for years), and recently found out it first came out in 2006. I came to it soon after the switch from 2D to 3D, and with how much stuff there already was in the game I just assumed (as a kid at the time) that it must've been out in development for a decade or so already.

The innovative part of Stray was "you're playing as a cat instead of a human", and its general setting. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Stray, thought the setting was an interesting idea, and hope we get a sequel (and voted for it because it was the only game in that category I'd played). But I'm of two minds about this award, because, yeah, its gameplay wasn't anything that hasn't been seen in third-person platformers before, but hopefully it winning might make game developers realize that, actually, people are capable of empathizing with a non-human protagonist, and you can make games without a human protagonist and they'll still sell well. I'm already a human 24/7, give me more games (of Stray's quality or better) where I get to play cool animals, or robots, or aliens, or something else that's different.

The battery life being the biggest gripe people seem to talk about would hopefully get wiped off the table. Having it a bit lighter somehow would be another great bit to focus on, to prevent that hand / wrist strain from longer sessions.I feel like those two things are pulling in mutually-exclusive directions. We can all hope for future continued advances in battery technology, though!

Quoting: AnzaI haven't looked through all of them, but of the ones I did I note the average gamer here is pretty far above the norm in terms of achievements achieved this past year! (Though Valve don't provide a standard deviation so I can't put it terms of N-sigma outliers.) :grin:Quoting: TriasAh, there's at least somebody else that is curious enough to look through them all :smile:Quoting: ArehandoroThis is mine [External Link], very casual compared to most..."This account's replay is not shared".
