Quoting: STiAT@Shmerl is right, game developers could have perfectly well built their own shader disk cache.Honestly I think it's something people don't consider because the closed source drivers already does it for them, so if they test with open source drivers and find that performance is worse they are unlikely to launch an investigation into it because the general expectation is that the opensource drivers will perform worse.
Looking at the patch, if it is really essential for many games, I really wonder why it wasn't implemented earlier. Maybe they just had too many other issues to fix, but this patch is .. pretty simple. Or maybe they assumed that games would do their caches on their own anyway (I'm sure Croteam does this "because they can" :p).

Quoting: robvv(...) The other thing that I have which is different is the graphics card: mine is a GTX 970 which might make quite a bit of difference, though I see that someone here is using an RX460 and getting a playable game.I use a gtx 970 and can play just fine, I use proprietary drivers though (378 iirc)
Hope this helps.

According to the source CSMT means 'command stream multithreading'
It might have been good to put that in the the article as I'm sure that's far from common knowledge ;)

The port is great, but the game...
The controls are SUPER clunkey - from pressing move forward till 47 stats moving feels like an enternity in jelly ( not so in any other direction mind you ). Running on a ledge and want to jump down? Well tough luck buddy you have to do a full stop face the correct direction and then sit patiently and wait for the tool tip to appear :|
Oh and once you completed basic training you get dumped at the main menu with no obvious indication as to how to continue the story - da fuq?
:(

Think I'll skip this one then, properly wont have time to play anytime soon and it would suck to be unable to play because the auth server was no longer profitable.

Quoting: AryvandaarI've been looking forward to this game since I heard the announcement, but what I've read about the game is not good. What I've read is that the game kicks people out of the game cause of the always online DRM, and if the servers are offline (which have happened) you can't use your saves. So basically once they shutdown their serves you can no longer play?
I tried searching more on these issues but I couldn't find any definitive answers if it has been fixed or not. Does anyone know?

But even if that were somehow the case you can create an endless supply of paypal accounts with the same credit card, so stop making excuses and spreading misinformation

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI use G2A for to buy Steam Wallet codes for my steam Linux account ...False - the 5 {local currency} is a ONE TIME thing to stop spammers
Because, You know, If you don't spend at least 5 U$D per year, Steam limit your account and you can not even add friends.
Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoEven if you are right, there is another problem: You can not use the same credit card or paypal account on two or more steam accounts... I asked that to the steam support. :(False - I am using the same paypal on both my own and my sons account.

Looks quite interesting.
Tough to be honest 'elevator pitch' needs a bit of work "Inspired by the life of devoted writers ..." was enough that I almost didn't bother watching the video, I'm glad I did as it looks like a well crafted and interesting game mechanic.
