So, how much work would it take to get Daggerfall ported natively to Linux?

ScummVM 2.0 released adding support for more classic games

Quoting: thelimeydragonI hope ResidualVM gets some more love soon. Would be a great day when it supports more 3D Adventure games.
You mean it plays more than Grimm Fandango?

OpenMW, the open source Morrowind game engine continues advancing

Quoting: DMJCThere's already people working on adding Fallout 3 and Oblivion/Skyrim support to the engine. One hacker managed to get the entire Capital city from Oblivion loaded into the OpenMW engine. There's a few videos on youtube showing physics/asset experiments. It will happen once OpenMW releases a completed Morrowind implementation.
Loading assets is one thing, but the AI and physics in Oblivion is an order of magnitude greater than those of Morrowind.

Makes me wonder how difficult it would be to make a FO3-like game in OpenMW though.

Looks like a Linux version of A Hat in Time might actually be coming

Quoting: elgabo64bit wine preset here and no problem for the movies.. I use the last version of wine-staging with csmt on.
The Gallium9-patched version lags behind the standard and CMST a bit in Arch.

Quoting: DolusYes it uses D3D9. I only have a Nvidia card so i can't test Gallium 9.
Picked up the DRM-free version to test. The performance with Gallium 9 is as good as I would expect from a native port. You have to do a 32bit Wine preset to get movies to work, but that's not a big deal.

Quoting: elgaboYeah!!! I play this game on wine since yesterday and run very well with only some little visual bugs.
Do you know what version of D3D it happens to use? I might be interested if I can run it in Gallium 9.

I've heard UE3 is a real pain in the ass to port. Hope this sees the light of day.

This really isn't the best place for political discussion, but there are clearly nutjobs on the left just like there are on the right.
