Re-Legion is a cyberpunk RTS where you convert citizens into your cult, will support Linux

Inasmuch as I have been 100% unsuccessful in converting my friends and family to at least try booting a live USB, and three of them had to pay ~$100 to fix their computer running the biggest malware magnet, known as the OS known as Windows, the game does look attractive:wub:.

Bum Simulator will simulate life as a homeless person

As someone who has helped the homeless, I find the concept to be disgusting.

The homeless, to contradict "Saint" Ronald Reagan, do not "choose to be homeless." A very large number of Americans are one paycheck away from insolvency. A medical bill can leave a whole family insolvent. And the Republicans persist in taking health care away from the poorest, so they can give big tax breaks to the rich. Of course, the rich STILL don't have enough money.

It's pretty easy to ridicule the "least of these" (read Matthew 25) from a warm, comfortable house or apartment. Grow a heart, and do not buy this game.

The open source fantasy turn-based strategy game 'Battle for Wesnoth' is now on Steam

This is great news; a really good TBS game is available on Steam. It is the first FOSS game on Steam which is free to play. A few other FOSS games have been sold on Steam: MegaGlest, TOME, Vulcan Nethack/SLASH'em, and a couple more I can't remember at the moment. They all cost less than $5.00, and the devs get some $$$ to further development. Nothing in the GNU License says that you can't sell your software, as long as you make the source code available.

Good news for every TBS fan.

I'll add that this is the best-looking indie game I have ever played, and that the devs are constantly on the Steam Forums, answering questions, even posting spoilers. The combat in this game is unique and terrific.

Make a name for your family in 'SAELIG', as it's now on Linux

Bought it and it's downloading now, but it's 1:00AM and I'm going to bed.

It does indeed look good enough that I'm buying it, just because of GOL.

Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is a solid and focused expansion

Got it, played for 30 minutes or so, and realized that I would prefer playing Dominions 5:wub:, which is far, far deeper. No game (and I've been playing solo since 2009) has the depth, the enormous variety of strategies, and the amazing (labeled, and a whole lot of people complain about the perfectly serviceable graphics) variety of units.

And it is Worth. Every. Penny.

It's a pretty good RPG, with separate battle screens, and a darn good story, so far at least.

Recommended.

And it is a good a move for then as Google's having made Android free was for them.

It might just be wonderful if M.U.L.E. was rereleased; what a gem of a game.

No, the original Doom was one of if not the first commercial game to have a Linux client, way back in 1994:

Abuse by Crack Dot Com even had Linux releases published by Red Hat in 1997:

Not to mention Loki Software, more from id Software, Hyperion, Tribsoft, LGP, and many more.
All true, but the Diamond Edition of NWN was the only easily-available game (you could find in stores--how quaint!) I could get, and, when I later got some Loki games, they simply weren't any fun, mostly C+ games that didn't hold my interest. I do love Kohan:Immortal Sovereigns, but haven't played it in 7-8 years.

And I hate and despise FPS games. Because I totally suck at them.;)
