Steam store updated, Valve still haven't fixed filtering to only Linux games on the homepage

I did change the preferences, and finally the Discovery Queue shows only Linux games. It was extremely frustrating to see only Windows games there.

It's looking like Linux may hit 3,000 games on Steam by the end of 2016

Quoting: whm1974At least we are getting more AAA titles. I don't know about you, but I seem to buy games on sale cheap and then forget about them.
The story of my life. I frequently go to the game's store page to remind me what it is :dizzy: when I have so freaking many games.

Wine allowed me to re-live a gaming experience I had from when I was a child on Linux

I run a PlayOnLinux  Steam for Windows client, and I play a few games I had bought when I was dual-booting. Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 run quite well, and I was happily playing Warhammer 40K:Age of War ;) until Feral released it for Linux. Can't afford to buy it twice, but now I'm happily playing it natively.

I download from USENET, and many files there are protected by PAR files. There is a Linux PAR program, pypar2, but there are many things it doesn't do, so I have run the Windows QuickPar program with wine for years. (PAR files are kind of magic; :dizzy: they'll fix broken files and even recreate missing files.)

On sale, BTW, for $1.19 and Worth. Every. Penny.

The Steam store update will require developers to use actual screenshots of the game, finally

Personally, I'm tired of trailers that don't show one second of actual gameplay. Any game can have great-looking cutscenes.

SIEGE, a strategic single-player card game released for Linux

I like the idea of trading points between cards; I'm a bit of a fan of card-based battles, and this one looks a bit more involved and complex than the usual.

Games to play on Linux this Halloween, my top choices

Quoting: MagamoFor RPG fans, D&D fans and horrorish fans, I can't recommend the two Ravenloft games available on GOG (From the mid 90s) enough. Atmospheric, yet still hard system AD&D RPGs.
Thanks for the tip! Downloading now!

Stellaris: Leviathans DLC and Heinlein patch 1.3 released
23 Oct 2016 at 2:08 am UTC

I find Stellaris to be more... approachable than EUIV or CK 2, and have been having good fun. The Heinlein patch was a major upgrade. It's certainly worth the 25% off proce.
