I've been following this game for about 5 years. or more, and have watched it improve steadily. No, it isn't finished, but it has come a long, long way.

Another point-and-click adventure, new on Steam and 33% off in the sale, is Dyscourse, which promises many different endings and a boatload of replayability as players explore the "game space."

Here's Steam's webpage:http://store.steampowered.com/app/234920/ [External Link].

Looks pretty unique and different, it's safe to say.

Sword Coast Legends, A Dungeons & Dragons RPG Announced For Linux, Day-1 Linux Release
11 Jun 2015 at 3:52 pm UTC

As a 13-year player of Neverwinter Nights, first on Windows and then, happily, gratefully, on Linux, this looks very enticing. Of course, the excellent module builder for NWN was never released for Linux, but this game just might have it.

Looking forward!

Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense Released

I blew my disposable income for 2/2014 when I bought CK2, and one of my main motivations was to reward Paradox for bringing a true AAA game to Linux. Their seriousness was displayed when Europa Universalis IV was released later that summer for Windows, Mac and Linux on the same day.

Desura owner Bad JuJu Games files for bankruptcy

Illwinter, the devs behind Dominions and Conquest of Etheria, had left Shrapnel, where they felt that they were being poorly treated by Shrapnel. They moved all their games to Desura, which is where the official forums are, and released the Dominions 4 beta on Desura. I don't know what's going to happen; at least their latest games are also on Steam.

This is nothing but bad news, and I'm hoping that things straighten out. Desura has its problems, including installing software, which returned errors for me, and the Linux client blew chunks, but they were a valuable resource, especially in the Dark Days of Linux Gaming (by which I mean, Before Steam).

Quoting: tuubi
Quoting: lucifertdarkI still have a Windows partition but it's not exclusively for playing games, I use Lightroom to edit photos, if the day comes where the Linux offerings are as good as Lightroom I will switch & have one less reason for keeping Windows around.
I think Darktable [External Link] is awesome, but then again, I'm just a hobbyist with relatively basic needs. Also I've never used Lightroom, so no way to compare. In any case it's worth trying out if you haven't already.
I quite agree that Darktable is pretty awesome. Here's a direct comparison between Lightroom and Darktable:http://digital-photography-school.com/darktable-vs-lightroom-does-it-measure-up/ [External Link]. The comparison does say that Darktable doesn't completely replace Lightroom, but, as a GIMP user who finds FOSS programs to be well worth the investment of time to overcome the learning curves, I'd use Darktable for sure.

Steam does sell Pixeluvo for $34.95 (which is a Hot Steaming (pun not intended) Deal), and it has some very nice features and is pretty easy to use, I have found; it certainly has a more shallow learning curve than GIMP. Should you wish to avoid Big Bad Steam, It's also avaiable from their website, http://www.pixeluvo.com/ [External Link], from which you can download a demo. Personally, I'd recommend it.

The Steam Hardware Survey For May Is Here, It’s Not All Doom & Gloom

Steam has a customer base of at least 100 million, which, multiplied by 0.0088 (0.88%) is still 880,000 Linux users, which (IMHO) is a boatload of people, in fact quite a few boatloads. Let's give thanks for small favors; Steam shows, to my eyes, no reason at all to abandon SteamOS, and, if a game will run on SteamOS, it'll probably run on any other distro.

Assembly Language Puzzle Game 'TIS-100' In Early Access On Steam

Bought it, eager to try it out. It doesn't run on my crappy lappy. So, as I once again am due for Yet Another Motherboard :><: , I will just have to wait. Interestingly, Labors of Hercules, which is pretty graphics-intensive, runs like a champ.

I have about a dozen games waiting to be installed when I do have a working desktop :'( .
