City-builder ‘Banished’ Linux Port Nearing Release
2 May 2015 at 2:35 pm UTC

I've been hoping that this would be released for Linux; it is extremely highly rated. Now that we've escaped the Great Linux Gaming Desert, there are more games than I can play :dizzy: , and I am one happy ^_^ camper.

EDIT: I just noticed that I had already bought Forsaken for Windows... :)

Lux Delux A 'Risk' Styled Game Now On Steam For Linux
2 May 2015 at 2:01 pm UTC

I've been playing the Lux games for quite a long while; it was one I bought in the Great Desert of Linux games.

It's a pretty fun game, and is worth the play.

Dungeons 2 Strategy Game Released On Steam For Linux
27 Apr 2015 at 3:29 am UTC

DRM or not, this looks very much like the game I had hoped War For the Overworld, which I supported on Kickstarter 'way back then, would be. I did get "Bedrock Beta" access, and watched the UI and features develop, but, with my motherboard problems, I haven't yet played the official release.

Nonetheless, Dungeons 2 looks like the real deal, and as an old DM II player, this looks like Ever So Much More So. :)

Colony Builder 'Maia' Updated, Bring Fire Extinguishers

I've been without a desktop for so long :'( , that I had forgotten it being in my Steam library. Once I get it running again :|, I think I'll have a couple or four hours of updates, not to mention games in my library that aren't installed at all (Pillars of Eternity is calling me...)

Half-Life 2: Update, A Community Made Graphical Revamp Released For Linux
24 Apr 2015 at 5:03 pm UTC

Half-Life 1 was not only the game that permanently established Valve, but it was the first FPS after Doom 1 to completely revolutionize the genre. No more load a level, kill the boss, and load another level, but a continuous ride into terror. Half-Life 2, of course, upped the ante. The Source version of HL1 is on my wishlist. You bet.

Gratuitous Space Battles 2 Released For Linux, Some Thoughts Included
20 Apr 2015 at 6:42 pm UTC

Hmmm. I understand the problems with creating an armada and then only watching the action, and that is sort of what turned me off to the original.

That being said, my Favorite Game Ever, Dominions 4:wub:, has always been "prepare your armies, and then watch the battle" in its core gameplay. This is not a problem within the game; in fact, it's a feature as far as I'm concerned.

GSB 2 does appear, from the video, to allow a far greater customization of one's fleet than before, when you simply selected ships and decided on a formation. I will also mention that it won't necessarily go on my Steam wishlist.

Oh, I read the article; I am hornswoggled at the dedication being applied!.

Age of Wonders III Fully Released On Linux, Some Early Thoughts & A Port Report
14 Apr 2015 at 7:57 pm UTC

Thanks for the tip; I hadn't noticed the sale. Downloading now, on my ancient Lenovo 3000 N100. I do not expect it to run, but it's worth a shot.

I'm currently RMAing my FIFTH motherboard :><: , and hoping that my somewhat powerful desktop can live again...

EDIT: No, although the start window did come up, the game itself didn't run. Just as I expected... :|
