A native version of Skyrim would indeed be lovely, although it runs very well indeed using the PlayOnLinux :woot: script for the Steam version. In fact, I installed Oblivion  in the same Steam bottle and it runs like a champ as well.
If Skyrim could be ported, so might Fallout 3?
Yeah, I know F3 is old...so was CIV V. :P

I might add that Vulture for Nethack is on Steam for $2.99, and, wait for it, comes complete with source code. Yes, it's in the Ubuntu repos, but there's nothing in the GNU license says that you can't sell your program accompanying its source code. I certainly didn't mind paying for a program I've already played a lot, if the Vulture devs get a cut.
And Nethack is the direct descendant of the original rougelike, ROGUE. Only it's far, far bigger in terms of content, even though it's still the same randomly-generated levels, but there is way more.

Quoting: BillNyeTheBlackGuyI don't see how htis is anything like Fire Emblem. No, but it is reminiscent of Frozen Synapse, to me. I've been playing the demo some small time, and it's interesting, but is certainly in alpha.

Yet Another Wishlisted Game... :dizzy: :D
This does look tasty, from the earlier review, and I might have to pick it up sooner rather than later.

An amazingly thorough presentation, Liam, and I am impressed with the effort you went through :woot: . I'm a happy nVidia user of the proprietary driver, but this (progress) report shows me that Nouveau is well worth my keeping an eye on.

I seem to remember having played this game sometime in the last year, and the description sounded pretty familiar. It is not a Windows game I had bought when I was still dual-booting ;) , and I have no idea why I have this memory. It is not in my Steam library.

Pillars Of Eternity RPG Released For Linux, Early Port Report Included

I know a lot of people I see on the various forums do a lot of hating on Unity, but all the Unity games I have bought have run just fine, and I appreciate the frequent ability to select graphics in the launch box, too.
The only wrappers (not native ports) that I have so far seen on Steam, besides legacy DOSBox games, are the Witcher 2 (which currently runs like a top) and Eador, which sucks so badly that they removed the "Linux" on their Steam page.
Just about every other Linux game I have bought is native. Life is good.

Quoting: GuestThis was an in-house Linux release, so it's really not a "port", right? It's just a Linux release.I backed the game on Kickstarter specifically because it was promised that it would be available for Linux, which is why they chose the Unity engine.
Just saying because not all Linux games are ports. We get a lot of in-house Linux releases on day one for example.

BTW, they gave PoE a rating of 92, which basically means very high acclaim. Metacritic also gives it a 92. I'm pumped :woot: !

Quoting: maodzedunHere is also a useful guide from PC Gamer that will be useful to both new and seasoned players:You know, I hadn't looked at PC Gamer for quite some while to the point that I had forgotten it as a resource :dizzy: . The website has a raft of reviews, videos and more for PoE, and I highly recommend it as a very useful place to get information on what is now quite a few games for Linux.

This has been the baseball simulator for a number of years now (the way X-Plane is the flight simulator), and is highly recommended, even, as was said, if you don't know a lot about baseball, IMHO, the greatest sport. If you do know a lot about baseball, you'll be amazed and delighted.

Quoting: zimplex1I don't get the point of oculus rift support but I like free content. The game actually has depth to it. You have to line up with the monsters to be able to hit them, and objects against the wall require you to go back to it. I imagine that with the Oculus Rift, it may be (slightly) easier to play.
