The original turn-based 4X game for Linux, Dominions 4 (or, for that matter, Dominions 3, both of which are on Steam, and all four Dominions games, all of which were originally developed on Linux, are availble from Desura), should not be ignored. No finer turn-based 4X game, IMHO, exists.

I posted this on the Steam Dev forum:
I’m not as pessimistic as many Linux gamers; I can remember (having started with Ubuntu 8.04) when the only native commercial game commonly available was Neverwinter Nights, for which Bioware had built a naive engine (and which still, after 12 years, works). The Humble Bundles were great, but featured mostly small games. When Steam for Linux started, virtually all the games had already been available in various HBs. The first major commercial game for Linux on Steam was Crusader Kings 2, which more or less started the flood we now (mostly) enjoy.
As a longtime (and rapidly aging) gamer who hates, hates, hates Microsoft, and hates, hates, hates Apple, this has been nothing but Good. I understand that there are literally terabytes of games that will never, ever be ported for Linux, but I have so many Linux Steam games in my library that sometimes I have to visit the store page to remind me of what they are, and I have a wide variety of games that satisfy every gaming mood.
Yes, some of them do crash, although I’ve never had a problem with Garry’s Mod. Those which do crash nearly always get fixed, and I, for one, am a very happy Linux gamer.

Backed at $15, which includes the game itself, which, I'm sorry to say, is the amount I've pledged in every Kickstarter game I've backed. Of course, I have backed a number of games, and have gotten a game from each one. Now I have Wasteland 2, which was the first game I backed, some others which aren't necessarily that good yet, and waiting eagerly for Torment:Tides of Numenaria and Pillars of Eternity.

Quoting: sonicSounds good, so should I prepare remove Win from my PC, once and for all?I certainly did, and I have enough Steam for Linux games that I can play whatever game suits my current mood, from frenetic action to turn-based strategy, from real-time strategy to adventure, from godlike, action RPG to straight RPG, horror, platform, tower defense, space shooter, puzzle, and MMORPG. Who needs a porous, vulnerable, slow, balky, annoying Windows installation at all?

Medieval, all right. The video showed some truly impressive aspects of "gettin' medieval on yo ass."

Anomaly was noted for an original game mechanic, turning tower defense on its head. This may or may not be a new mechanic; the scenario goes back a way.

I first saw the "game keeping track of how long you've played and unlocking things regardless of your lack of success" mechaniic in Don't Starve!
Good to see it used again.

Looks terrific, and I am certain that I cannot play for more than about 4 minutes, due to a severe lack of twitch, that kind of skill, before ALT-F4ing and wondering if I should have been that impulsive so as to have bought it...:|

Quoting: subWow, that game looks nice.Indeed it was, making it more than charming in appearance than the usual adventure game. This plain white character animation looks to be well-matched to the game's subject. One to keep an eye on.
IIRC, Lume was also created using paper/cardboard.
Puppy Games Aren't Impressed With Linux Sales (UPDATED)

I bought all of their games in some HB some years ago. "Revenge of the Titans" was the only one I played twice. It was likely to have been the first tower defense game I played, and I liked it. Since then, and it's been years, I have over a dozen TD games in my Steam library, all of which have far better graphics; OTTTD litters the paths with the guts of the monsters you've killed. I might play that Puppy game again, on a phone or tablet (not my computer), but I have "Plants Vs. Zombies" already, and, frankly, it's deeper, and more fun.
