If Aspyr, which did the AAA Linux port of CIV V, is doing C:BE, that is nothing but good news. I waited four years for a Linux port of CIV V, and three years for X-COM. It's not like I don't have games to play in the meantime:).

This is indeed a hard game, but pretty unique in that it's TBS with an open world. Pretty steep learning curve, but then, I'm a Dominions player:D.

It has always been possible, other games have done it. Steamplay is optional and not a requirement.

Well, I had bought CIV V for Windows, and, when the Linux version was released, I did have to buy it again. $16.99 for a native version with all the DLC was, to me, a steal.

Paradox has been pretty good about porting to Linux: Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis IV, Cities In Motion 1 & 2. They've made me a customer.

+1 for a survey. I've seen people complaining about certain games, which run fine for me, not running for them (and they've got a GTX780, and I have a 650ti:huh:).

Very interesting news about Spinward Traveller. I might even pony up a few bucks; I never found people willing to play the P&P version, but I certainly admired the ruleset and universe.
