Torchlight & Torchlight II Look Set For Linux & Steam
17 Jul 2014 at 3:14 pm UTC

I've played a lot of Torchlight II on Steam for Windows via wine. It's bigger and better than the first, and the bottom line is that if you liked the first one, you'll like the second one even better.

Snapped it up cheap, but it opens a black window with music, but no graphics. Reported it on the game's Steam forums. Sigh...

Don't Buy Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Yet

Steam told me, on release day, that I did have to buy it again. I had the $16.99, and, as I've said before, to get a native version of the game and ALL the DLC seemed to me like a steal. Besides, Aspyr got a chunk of my payment (and richly deserved it), and, if I'd just downloaded it had it appeared in my library, they wouldn't have gotten my payment.

CIV V has been the only game I've bought twice; every other game I had bought for Windows, when a Linux port came out, it was free to download. You know, the way Steam usually works. X-COM:EU appeared in my library, and I didn't have to pay for it again.

Lords of Midnight was one that slipped by me when I was a C64 gamer, and I hadn't heard of it before I read about LoA.
