As I recall, Outcast was (beyond its gameplay)notable for using OpenGL rather than DirectX. This should make porting a bit easier, it is to be hoped.

I've been playing games with keyboard and mouse for so long, and not playing games with a controller, that I have NO idea whether the Steam controller will be good for me to use or not.

I funded it on Kickstarter about a year ago, and have been waiting. I am patient, and think and hope that Wasteland 2, when it arrives, will be as professional a game as can be imagined.
