Rebirth was disappointing though, I hope they got their stuff together for X4. I am getting a Zen (Ryzen?) Cpu in April myself. :)

@tuubi
You may have gotten me wrong a little bit. I am not a troll nor do I condone trolling. I also go out of my way to tell other Linux folks on Steam to not post +1's and to give at least a couple sentences about why you want the game in question.
I do and intend to continue to do Linux evangelism and already vote with my wallet, check my Steam collection. With that said, I respect and understand your perspective, with a couple caveats.
I disagree that "they are just doing business" when they (devs) are purposely ignoring a segment of their customer base and allowing trolls to troll freely against these folks whilst banning people who retaliate in response to said trolling by Windows "fanboys" or MS shills. The market is indeed changing, but not in the way you say. The market has always been the way you describe. Business and how it's conducted hasn't changed at all. Since when has it NOT been about evaluating risk for corporations when producing content or products for sale? The bottom line is still King. I get that.
Now of course, I am not trying to make a blanket statement about the PC gaming market in general, I am only talking about the ones who allow or perpetrate this behavior in their forums. There are many devs, especially indie ones, who are very attentive to all of their audience regardless of platform and I salute those people. Those are the people that truly deserve our money.
You are right, we chose Linux. I get that too. I am not butthurt about Game A or B not coming to Linux. I never am. If a dev answers my inquiry with a "No we don't plan to make a Linux port: or "Maybe someday in the future but we are busy now", I say thank you and move on. What I do have a problem with is how Linux gamers are treated by some of these sorts as a jerk for asking a simple question. A simple question that could lead to a purchase of the product inquired about. This is what my problem is. I chose Linux knowing full well that I would not be able to play every game that comes out. I am ok with that. I am not ok with harassment, brow-beating, or banning due to lopsided and/or biased moderating of people who are simply trying to ask if a game may be planned for their platform.

Civ VI Steam forum mods banning users for expressing Linux support

I am not so sure that Firaxis is "anti-Linux, but I will tell you I am sick and tired of the apathy shown towards our community by AAA pubs/devs in regards to ports or support for ports, a few obvious exceptions notwithstanding. Being marginalized isn't fun, and when you speak out about this neglect or about moderators on forums/threads favoring Windows users you're labeled "toxic". But the Win-Trolls brow-beating you aren't even sneezed at in most cases. It's ridiculous.
I would like to say though that I agree that posting "+1 Linux!" is dumb and people should stop it. It makes us look like a bunch of 14-year olds, no disrespect to actual 14-year olds, but I am a grown man and I suspect a lot of the folks that post "+1 Linux!" in every Linux port request thread are as well. At least give a game you really want a sentence or two explaining or expressing your interest. Come on guys.
As has been mentioned earlier by others, the advice to ignore a troll only works if the troll's goal is to get a rise out of you. But when a troll is trying to silence you or get a thread derailed or shut down to keep you or others like you from showing your interest in a title to a dev, the strategy changes.

Quoting: BlackBloodRumWell, I was 100% sure I was going to buy Civ VI. But after seeing this.. I'm about 0% sure I'm buying it. In fact I'm tempted to just ignore it if it releases on Linux.I wanted to play this game with you too buddy. You were gonna kick my ass in it remember? :( Well if you're not getting it, I don't think I will either.
They are now anti-linux (the only platform I use) so why should I continue to support someone who dislikes me and my platform?
Sorry guys, but they just lost a guaranteed sale.

ZeniMax are flexing their legal muscles towards DoomRL

Quoting: KeyrockOn the one hand, Zenimax, as loathsome a company as they are, are completely in the legal right here. On the other hand, a company with a soul would let this go, or even give it its blessing, as DoomRL is in no way hurting their bottom line nor the image of the IP. They could even use giving DoomRL their blessing as a bit of positive PR, but they didn't because that's not how the soulless suits at Zenimax think.My thoughts exactly. No need for me to chime in, you said it all sir. :)
