It's not as powerful as this computer, but you can assemble yourself, and it's cheaper.

You can buy Intel N97 mini PCs with similar or better specs for less than $200 in the US, and those usually come with a Windows license (if you have a use for it). I am not disregarding the added value that Emudeck will provide and the coolness factor of the custom case, but £300+ (~$400 USD) is a bit too rich for my blood. I would rather just buy a mini PC and just install RetroArch on it (in fact, I have an AMD mini PC running Kodi + RetroArch on Ubuntu).

So I guess the question is: do I buy this bundle now, or do I marinate in guilt for about a week and then buy the bundle anyway?

You probably have at least one installed game that is explicity configured to run under Proton 8 in its properties:

Game -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool

By the way, you don't have to uninstall Proton 8 unless you're really short of space in your root/home filesystem.

Wow! Frankly, I never thought I'd see the day...

However: "Family Sharing is a feature that developers may opt their games out of for technical or other reasons at any time. Visit the Steam Store to see a list of games that currently support Family Sharing."

And: "it is understandable that some day you may need to join a new Steam Family. Adults can leave a family at any time, however, they will need to wait 1 year from when they joined the previous family to create or join a new family."

Still, this was my major peeve with Steam by far, so any improvement is better than locking my entire account when my daughters and I just want to play different games...
