Valve reveal the new Steam Frame, Steam Controller and Steam Machine with SteamOS

I wanted to build something like Steam Machine for long time, now Valve did it for me and as I'm using Steam Deck connected to big screen as my main gaming device the Steam Machine is a no brainer for me.

I also would love to have a wireless VR and Steam Controller, so I hope they will do some package selling of those three together.

Halls of Torment is still probably the best survivor-like with The Boglands DLC and free update out now

I looked at new The Boglands DLC for my favorite action-roguelike survivor-like game, Halls of Torment. I was surprised when I saw that the user reviews were "Mixed" with 101 reviews (70 positive, 31 negative). Some of the English reviews talked about bugs, game crashes and balancing issues. There is also a couple that mentioned problems with "growth traits." Since I did not own the DLC, I could not confirm or deny any of these claims.
Not sure what are those reviews talking about, I already spent few hours in the Boglands and didn't saw any bug or game crash. With balancing I'm not sure, the Boglands is really hard even when you have all the 500 original quests already completed and maxed out almost everything. It's still easier than The Vault, which could make even the easiest enemies a health sponges after 30 minutes. The growth traits are not bad, it just took me two games to figure out how to best use them (maxing out the related trait first and then picking it up).

The new classes are really fun, each of them with their own specific mechanic (especially bard, which has it's own abilities).

You mean something like The Vault?
The main difference between The Vault and Boglands is that in The Vault trigger for boss was to destroy the crystals, here you need to kill 20 000 enemies, but both of them are very hard to survive and you need to have been prepared.

Talking point - what have you been playing lately?

I'm playing King is watching (it really hook me up), returned to Halls of Torment with Boglands DLC and in the meantime playing Enotria: Last Song (not a bad soulslike).

I played the DLC yesterday and it's great, more quests to finish and three new characters to play with. So long my free time! :-D

Humble Choice for November 2025 has Total War: WARHAMMER III

I really love TW: Warhammer (all 3 games), but I stopped playing it after switching to Steam Deck as the 3 is unsupported and runs really badly.

Maybe when I switch from Steam Deck to something else I will get back to it.

Maybe the UK (and the world) should start looking into what all these predatory monetization schemes are doing to the brains of their precious children instead of trying to police public forums and pushing the real problems further out of reach.
I assume that just treating every game with loot box monetization technique as gambling would be enough. As plenty of countries already has a lot gambling laws in place. Like 18+ or not able to advertise publicly etc.

Good thing publishers don't care about old games, imagine non-heterosexual relations being patched out of Dragon Age, Mass Effect,...
Looking at the recent Dragon Age, I would rather assume that remakes of those old games will just make them more woke with talks about coffee and how it hurts when you misgender someone. :-D
