Quoting: SalvatosA false sense that they are protecting an industry they care about, probably. This could be a valid point, but as you said it's only a false sense. Best is if you buy directly from developer.

Quoting: ShmerlFeel free to comment in that thread. It's surprising how many DRM proponents are commenting there. I suspect most of them aren't sincere users, but represent the pro-DRM side of publishers.Probably, because I can't understand why any gamer wants to promote DRM gaming. Don't know much of the gamers, that are happy, when the game can't be played offline or not starting because of DRM.

I'm even convinced, that the sales wouldn't be affected if every software will be open sourced.

Quoting: ShmerlI posted the proposal here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stadia/comments/b977ex/proposal_for_google_stadia_provide_drmfree/ [External Link]I read your subreddit and it's nice how you are trying to explain how DRM is wrong and it shouldn't be used. I myself always wonder, why the DRM is even used, when it doesn't affects sales. Who doesn't want to pay never will, with or without DRM. I agree with the movies, it is the most sick industry in regards of DRM.
Stadia subreddit has an official community manager from Google. So I guess this is as good as it gets, if she can help directing this to anyone in the company who could use such idea.

Here comes the Evil Corp. Now you will be vendor locked not only by e-mail, cloud and other web services, but by the games itself. And as a bonus you can pay us with your privacy.
Thanks, I'll pass.

The Linux beta of X4: Foundations has been running nicely, a new update is now out

I plan to buy it when it's ready, X3 linux ports worked really nice, so I think the X4 will be no exception.

I will say this, it's definitely not a user friendly game. The tutorials were a bit naff but once you get into the swing of it, there's a lot of details to appreciate in it.X had always a rather simple tutorials and you still felt lost on the beginning, but it's really an awesome game. When I first saw X4 trailer I was like: "Wow, is this even true?"

This looks like a nice manager for games. I actually don't remember what I bought where and most of the time I'm using only steam because of this. But this looks like something that could help me with this problem.
Quoting: Mountain Man"I hear you like launchers, so here's a launcher for your launchers!"I didn't heard about any launcher for GOG or Humble Bundle for Linux.
Has it really come to this?
