I also heard it on the Podcast that the Linux version is being handled by CodeWeavers. I'm probably also the guy who posted it on Reddit and Steam ;). Add the fact that the executable on SteamDB is literally called "bin/cxsteamwrapper" and it's pretty much confirmed to be a wrapped "port" by CodeWeavers.

Nightdive Studios are making a System Shock Linux demo after gathering feedback

Quoting: zimplex1I wonder if the positive experience/feedback the LED devs received had any influence on this decision?
Highly doubt that. It's just that enough Linux users asked for a demo.

Nice to see that they'll release a demo for Linux. I sent them a message about that on Kickstarter and it seems that enough people asked for a Linux demo. Let's just hope that the demo arrives before the Kickstarter campaign is over.

Quoting: niarbehtI wouldn't mind spending $300-400 on a even more dope RX 490, but I'm not sure how long before that will be a thing, have cash - want awesome open source graphics card.
Looks like the RX 490 will arrive [External Link] at the the end of this year or (early) 2017 according to the AMD roadmap.

So it's up to you if you want to wait at least 6 months for the RX 490 or get a RX 480 right now.

Sadly that's not the case here.
Wow really, so he didn't even benchmark Talos on it?
It wasn't included in the extra benchmarks but I hope that he will benchmark it in the near future. The tested games are, Tomb Raider, Shadow of Mordor and Company of Heroes 2 btw.

I'm really starting to think about upgrading my GTX 760 to the RX 480 now. I always said that I'll get an AMD graphics card when their open source drivers improve and are actually competitive with the Nvidia blob. Well, it's time to put the money where my mout is and get one. If only they were actually available in my city :(

Quoting: WienerWuerstelI'm still cautiously optimistic but I'm not expecting too much to not get disappointed when the benchmark results are finally here.
Anyhow, the card is only 200 bucks!! :D
Don't count on that. Europeans are also going to have to pay more (especially for the 8GB version) which will hopefully not diminish the price/performance ratio too much.

Only 1-2 day(s) left and we will finally get all the answers to our questions... regarding the RX 480 at least ;)

Don't get your hopes up too much. Michael "hyping it up" is just to generate more clicks and more clicks mean more money for his site and more beer for him to drink ;).

--- Oh, SNAP! Deep Silver has made yet another AAA (or AA, if one prefers) title available to Linux Gamers? That's awesome news! (--- but wait, no. Mustn't I find something at fault about this game's release? Yes, I believe so. AH!)

"Oh. Gosh darn. This game, it is not to be released during the Steam sale. It is a thing that is not Fair. O woe! O woe! Cry I."

There. That's done.

Thanks, as always, for the update Liam. I thought it was good news, at any rate. I'm glad you shared it. :)
1. They haven't made it available yet
