This War of Mine turned 5, so 11 bit studios gave it a big free Final Cut update

Quoting: EikeThis is the first game coming to my mind when someone talks bad about gaming.
Do play it.
It's no fun.
What?
How could making vegetable farming or stripping traders of their money by continuous profitable deals be "no fun"? :O

It is a pity the studio has basically ditched Linux for all its future releases (khm… "Frostpunk" khm…).

Google reveal Stadia will only have 12 games available at launch, more later in the year

Quoting: EikeEveryone's their own of course, but I'm surprised how many people state no interest at all in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Granted, the game is being advertised like there is no tomorrow. But this not automatically translates into interest. Don't know for others, but I personally absolutely loathe and despise shooters and am not into westerns in general, either games or movies (being a space-themed sucker since "Space Rangers"). I think, the last western shooter I had played was Gun.Smoke [External Link] for Dendy (Famicom). I hated it. :D

Other than that, my opinion on Stadia™ has not changed a bit with this huge "revelation". A very weak game set: no games interest me (most I have not even heard of, thanks to only tracking DRM-free Linux-native games).

EVERSPACE 2 is officially funded and on the way to Linux

<3Glad this was funded.
Sadly, the tiers were too steep for me. And, of course, there are other factors:
1) No demo or working prototype for Linux;
2) Unreal Engine -- this one is the most disgusting (lots of developers have complained the Linux "support" is only nominal with a handful of bugs/inconsistencies with Windows version, requiring a lot of additional testing and workarounds, while Epis just sits on its hands, doing nothing);
3) Bloodscammed and other failed "high budget" projects (like inXile's recent projects). The more they demand -- the less the probability of actual Linux version (just my empirical observation, no hard science proofs).

So, I'll just wait patiently till the release. Hope this will pan out just fine!

Microsoft confirm their new Chromium-powered Edge browser is coming to Linux

Quoting: LinasChrome is becoming the new Internet Explorer. Quite literally.
Literally… Like, butchered the poor bastard, scalped it and put is skin on the face as a "mask"? Yaiks! Under this POV, Chrome masquerading as IE (AKA "Edge") is kind of disgusting.

Quoting: Liam DaweWeird, worked fine in Firefox for me and I don't think I have anything fancy installed.
This is kind of self-induced. Me using Waterfox 2019.10 (AKA "Waterfox Classic", AKA "Firefox 52 with security patches") with NoScript did not help the situation. Still, I have permitted everything sane there (and besides, YouTube works for me just fine), so the error is on their side (unsupported video format?).

Have gone to the link to see the "woo!" in action…

"No compatible source was found for this media (0x10600003)"

I already *feel* the might of MS coming this way! :P

You just did. :whistle:
Sometimes I wonder why that distro name is so weird and long (four words instead of one)…

Quoting: Liam DaweYou don't win over publishers by not buying games.
True. But in this case "505Games" has already shown its true colors (by outright rejecting refunds even after the sales money started flowing in and by hiding all dev's contacts from backers -- ArtPlay is virtually unreachable).

If you are suggesting I should throw them even more money in order to "win them <over>", then, sadly, I don't see a point.

The only <partially> redeeming aspect for the "Lab Zero Games" (who are, honestly, a true victims here and, if anything, it is them who we should "win") is that they probably signed the contract with "505Games" before "Bloodscammed" happened.
So, I do not suggest everyone to ignore the game due to sh…ady publisher. "Lab Zero Games" are OK as far as I know.

Quoting: orochi_kyoYou are 99% pretexts for not buying something, I cant hardly believe you buy anything. Stop kry...g.
You can always check my GOG profile. I am not hiding unlike the majority.
And, please, refrain from personal insults from here on, OK?

Quoting: GuestCombined it means that Google really aren't reliant on AMD as much when it comes to support; Google can modify the kernel and drivers as they see fit, without needing to jump through support hoops.
I have just read the terms of GPL to check whether they are obliged to provide source code for their changes…
Nope. (Because the program -- Linux kernel -- itself does not get distributed). :(
What a shame. It seems Google will have a chance to get away with this (unlike Sony or Nintendo which ended up using BSD in their consoles).
