Voted! I've been using Unity 3.5 and 4.1 for the past 6 months. It definitely needs to run on Linux itself. It's a real pain for me to have to export my game in Windows, and then transfer it onto a drive that is neutral between OS's and then load into Ubuntu to test it (only to find that something's a little off!).

I'm just curious, but what is SteamLUG?
Really good video by the way, the gameplay was recorded smoothly. I had a hard time last time trying to get Guns Of Icarus Online to record smoothly.

Great article Samsai, we definitely need more people posting Linux related videos! More videos == more word of mouth.
you can use our article submission system to post your videos for others to see here on GOLI didn't know about this. How does this work?

Yes, I was able to. Thank you. I am compiling it now :)
Can't wait to try it. In regedit I also have to enable CSMT right? What about the StrictOrderDraw?

Thank you for the instructions sobkas. Currently the cs.tar.bz2 I have is from the reddit page. So, whenever I try to do git am /tmp/cs/* I get:
Patch format detection failed.
I think I have the wrong cs file. Where else can I get cs.tar.bz2 from? I'm scouring the wine-devel list, but I think I'm not looking in the right place or just not seeing it.
EDIT: I think I found it in the wine-devel list. Strangely it downloads as attachment-1.bin but after renaming it to cs.tar.bz2 it's definitely correct.

That's a shame. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to compile it myself. Unlike other patches which are just text and I can generally compile myself, this one seems to use git (which I have no clue about) and apparently it's not just one patch.

Does this release include that Wine improvement patch by Stefan Dösinger?

Is the gameplay fun? I'm curious. I've been looking at it in Steam for a while wondering to myself "Wasn't there supposed to be a Linux release of this game?".
I'm glad that there is going to be one in the end :)

To my surprise FEZ and Mark Of the Ninja work right off the bat! They're already in my Steam library and are playable, achievements work too... Normally HIB takes quite some time before it works. Not this time, so that's a nice change :)
FEZ works fine in Ubuntu 13.04, check out a small vid I did of it below (skip to 0:40 to see the game running). It also seems to autodetect my screen resolution automatically, which is a first. Mark Of the Ninja was the same as well, it detected my resolution (1920x1080) immediately.

This is a great game! Back when I first started playing it I only had a 1Mbps connection, so I lagged a lot but it was a heck of a lot of fun. I feel the need to give it a go again, now that my tech is slightly better fit for it :D
Congratulations too!
