Crimsonland hardcore shooter on greenlight

What the heck, is this a rip off of Violetland?

Or are they the same developers? If they are not the same developers, then this isn't very nice.
EDIT: My apologies, it seems that they are two different games. I thought Crimsonland was something new, apparently it's been around for a while. Again, I apologize for my mistake.

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy Source Code Released
5 Apr 2013 at 11:19 am UTC

I looked at the source code, and my gosh is it scary. I have a bit of knowledge with C++, but I can see it wasn't easy making these kinds of titles in the past. Engines like Unity and Unreal, heck even Love2D make things a whole lot easier now. The difference in complexity is vast...

Valve continues pushing adding 5 new titles!

More games! I can feel CS:GO inching closer now. I tried some Blue Shift gameplay, and it works beautifully:

Despite it being an old game, the story and gameplay are pretty much on par with what we have nowadays. I wonder what it would look like if they remade the Goldsrc games with the Source engine.

Steams March user survey is out, Linux goes down!
30 Mar 2013 at 9:32 am UTC

I don't know if I was a part of the reason it went down, but when the survey came up on my end I accidentally closed it. It didn't reappear after that, so I assume it's as if I didn't enter the survey.

Double Fine And 90,000 Friends Present A Teaser For Broken Age

More games for Linux means more games for me to play, which is all good :)
It would be awesome if it could truly be same day release. Keep us posted if you can :D

Native apps with smooth performance on iOS, Android, Chrome, PC, Mac, and soon, Linux
From the Moai website. That's kinda risky. Soon for Linux could mean anything. Is there a possible ETA for Linux support? Not dissing, I'm just curious. LOVE2D is also Lua based, so I wonder how different Moai is from LOVE2D. The art definitely looks nice.

Postal, Dungeon Defenders and Dungeon Hearts added to Steam for Linux
29 Mar 2013 at 4:26 am UTC

Finally Dungeon Defenders has made it into Steam Linux library. They actually fixed the fullscreen bug and the mouse mouse. I'm glad! They still have not fixed the mana issue though, so the mana just sits there statically... I tried it and made a short recording of it if you'd like to see:

I still miss grimrock, they totally ignoring both steam forum and their own forum, very disappointing
When Dungeon Defenders first got ported, they pretty much ignored the cries of the Linux gamers as well. It might be possible they're working on it in the background, but are in no rush... They also don't feel obliged to answer. Which is not cool.

GameLaunched, a new game-specific crowdfunding platform

Ah, on their twitter they've made it clear. They block Asia due to a PayPal restriction. I wonder why PayPal wants Asia out of the picture, considering I used them in the past years to buy from Steam and Desura. Oh well... Another funding site I can't use. Sorry for the trouble muntdefems.

You don't have permission to access /on this server.
It can't be my ISP, since I'm using Google's Public DNS. It works fine for you?

This seriously looks like a server-side related issue though. It looks like everytime I try to go to the website, it's directly trying to connect to the root directory. Is this even allowed? I'm not too familiar with how servers work, but this doesn't look right.

I always get an error when trying to access this Gamelaunched website. 403 Forbidden, I don't have access to view it. Is it not viewable in Malaysia or SEA?
