We can confirm that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on Linux is using OpenGL, and we're very happy to announce that we are looking towards Vulkan implementation in the first half of next year.
This part was i m talking about.

Quoting: EikeYes,that Gol article was i mention.Quoting: LeopardI remember something like that.Just like 2017 Q1 Deus Ex will be updated for Vulkan.See this:
I m sure i saw that on somewhere but i can't find it right now.

Edit:
„I can confirm that we will be implementing games for Linux using Vulkan from 2017, but we have no plans to release a Vulkan version of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I hope this clears things up!“

I too prefer native ports in new games but it's better than nothing.

Quoting: Kuduzkehpangreate for linux gaming but sorry i couldnt count this as linux sale. İ dont want developpers to hide behind WİNE and say we are making games for linux withouth actually coding them for to natively run under linux.X Blades is an eight year old game. Are you actually thinking that game has a chance to get native Linux port?
else i have to thank blizzard cuz publishing Linux games out of the box. .s.s

I'm not asking for performance problems,i just want to developers get used to Vulkan.Eventually,OpenGL is not so competitive with DirectX but Vulkan has.

Quoting: tuubiI asked for that because Feral planning to add Vulkan support for Deus Ex:MD.Quoting: LeopardFor possibility of Aspyr media speaking as you say in the article;can you ask them are they planning to move their previous tittles to Vulkan? This is extremely unlikely for existing titles. Is there a specific Aspyr port that doesn't perform adequately with OpenGL? Bit of a wasted effort otherwise.

Great example of how to use Wine by Topware Games again!
Like these old games,we don't need a native port.We just want to play them without effort for Wine builds and settings
Like that,Cdpr must have a Wine Port of Witcher1

I'm trying to convert many persons to Linux.Which i'm just a single person but so many others like me is out there.
Even we have a forum site to help Linux new-comers to solve their problems and so many gaming sections of course.
Which is deditaced to Steam,GOG.COM and other possibilities like PlayOnLinux,Wine,OpenMW etc.
The only suffering is some people with good hardware just keeps asking AAA games on Linux to us,mostly BattleField 1,Gta5,sadly League of Legends(Dota2 is way better than that) and Witcher3.
Besides of that,so many are happy with Cs:Go,Rocket League,Mount&Blade Warband(with vanilla version,expansion packs are keeps crashing),Darkest Dungeon,CiV5,Cities:Skylines.
We need AAA titles badly at this point.

The latest Steam Beta Client fixes a nearly 4 year old Linux issue, fixes other Linux issues

But this issue needs to be solved by Valve somehow.
Why are we using Steam?
First of all, just for experiencing out-of-box work.Users must not be forced to try some solutions. It must give everybody same experience. Then why English users don't have these problems,if it's general?
We're running a forum site about Linux and we have a gaming section there. We say "look, there are some good games on Linux with Steam".Because most of the newcomers are thinking there is no gaming on Linux at all.
Issues like this are just chopping user experience. They come for Linux, system works fine. When they install Steam, boom.First minute, first goal.
Windows client works normally on every language. We just need that, that's all.

Quoting: wolfyrionThanks for the explanation. It's worth giving a try.Quoting: LeopardSteam on Linux works normal if system language is set to English.Well to me it seems that this is like 99% NOT a steam issue.
However,at other languages it has issues
For example:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/4792 [External Link]
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/4790 [External Link]
This problem exists in most of the programs in Linux and it happens if you are not able to set up your locale correctly to your distro.
I am using Greek Locale in everything I do and all are working fine.
In my noobish Linux era I had problems as well running programs because I had Greek Locale.
by changing only the Language/locale in your distro you are using is not enough, you have to generate your locale.
This is how you do it...
First choose what locale you are using by removing the #
sudo gedit /etc/locale.gen
Example:
#dv_MV UTF-8
#dz_BT UTF-8
el_GR.UTF-8 UTF-8
el_GR ISO-8859-7
el_CY.UTF-8 UTF-8
el_CY ISO-8859-7
#en_AG UTF-8
#en_AU.UTF-8 UTF-8
Then regenerate your locale - reboot and you should be fine
sudo locale-gen
